Title: OK.......CZUSA Update on the Rami......
Post by: ut83 on January 06, 2004, 02:45:48 PM
Questions have been brought about regarding the slide stop/pin and some not liking it.  Well folks heres the scoop.

The USA Sold RAMI's will come with a slightly different machined frame in that area and the guns will come with the pin as shown AND A REGULAR 75B Style Slide Stop.  So if you have a pocket carry issue/snag concern with the slide stop use the pin.......and vise versa with the Pin.

There you have it........Dont be surprised if the gun has other subtle but cool differences in the frame as opposed to the one pictured above.

            Shoot well.........:smokin

Although, I actually prefer the look of the 'PIN'.

Problem is . . . . If I choose to fit the pin, there is a 'void' of metal between the pin and the selector switch, whereas on the Euro RAMI there is a tidy shroud/housing around the nifty pin.

Uh - maybe I'm too picky? :rolleyes :\ :lol ;)

More drool on the Keyboard....

I think I like the pin.  But the either/ or option is VERY cool.  Applause to CZ!

Any word as to magazine compatability?

            But it still won't function as a slide stop . . . . . right?

It WILL function as a slide stop.  Thats why they are sending it with both so you have a choice to stop the slide or not to stop the slide, thats the question?  :rolleyes

Mag compatibility is any other dual stack 9mm mags from CZ.....I thought that had been covered?

            Shoot well..........

Oh. I wasn't sure cuz it doesn't look like there's a little notch cut into the slide for the slide stop to catch (in the pic above).

Good for CZ! This was a problem with the RAMI for me. I'm going to stop in the shop to see one when they arrive.

Now, just to be picky, there are two other solutions that would have solved this problem and not introduced the extra switch: (1) Devise a feature which closes the slide when a new magazine is inserted. No gun has this feature designed into it, although you can force some guns to do it by slamming the magazine home. It would provide the fastest reload possible. (2) Make the original pin into a button which would drop the slide.

Their solution to the problem at least allows the user to lock the slide back on demand. Locking the slide back is a common way to hand a gun safely to another person. It is also a requirement in most of the classes that I've taken that the gun be put down with the action open. Baring a slide stop pin, the user would have to insert an empty magazine to lock back the slide.

For the .40 caliber- are the magazines the same between the CZ-75 .40S&W and the CZ-40?  Because I am wanting the RAMI to be a companion to the CZ-40
