Title: Welcome to the CZ P-01 Club

This section of the CZ Forum is dedicated to discussion of the CZ P-01 Model in 9mm. In Europe, the P-01 is also known as the 75D Compact.

Please note that the other Compact models (P-06, PCR, and 75B Compact) all have their own Clubs as well.

Howdy to you folks. This is a good place for my first post. I have a P-01 in the mail from Top Gun and will have it soon. I have the CZ 75D Compact, the European slide marking. I have no experience with CZ so this should prove interesting. Bought the gun on the strength of the posts I've seen on this forum. Sure hope you guys are right.

Hello folks. Like the others have said, the P-01 is one nice piece.

I tested a few 9mm's: Ruger, SIG , Glock, FN, XD. All are great handguns. I will shoot more and own others but was still looking around for my first handgun and came across the CZForum. Great info.

I didn't have local access to the P-01, but I held a 75 BD and the grip felt great. I told the salesman that the P-01 grip should feel about the same. I said " sign me up ".

I Bought my first CZ ever just last Saturday, CZ75D Compact (PO-1) Man oh Man! I have always been a glock fan. I am now a convert! Shot 200 rounds 1 hour ago, I tried everything i could to jam it up! Did more limp wristing than you would see at a gay pride parade. NOT ONE FALIURE. 115 grain monarch!STEEL, 124 grain RWS, and 124grain +p+ HS. My Glock19 always jams up when limp wristing! hello to all i just purchased my po1 NIB for $431(i think that was a good deal) from a dealer at home who said it had sat there for a while and no one had ever looked at it. First and foremost i would like to say thanks to all who have posted the two cents on here your comments made it an easy descision. I have owened revolvers all my life and wanted a semi. Every review i have read said that CZ will out shoot everuthing almost hands down. A local gunshop told me i have discovered the dark horse of the pistol world. Anyway enuff rambling once again thanks for all the help and i look forward to a long journey...One last thing i am military and have many friends in the world of shooting one is a retired navy seal who begged to use his CZ as a duty pistol and choose it over everuthing they had so that says alot about a company...salivating at the arrival next week

I just purchased my first pistol yesterday. A P-01 with laser grip! I wont be able to pick it up until next wednesday though, i am counting the minutes!!! 831 out the door. I thought it was a pretty good deal with the grip.

Just put my deposit down on the P01. Researched the matter of which 9 to get for what seemed like forever.
Can't wait; looking forward to getting some range time with this.

The same route I took. My 75B .40 is a treat to fire. 600 rounds later and the addiction took hold. I added the P-01 Friday and now have 200 rounds through it. Think this is my new favorite and will be my concealed carry. Plan to get back on the range today, another 200 should fix the itch ;D

New to the club. Just purchased my first cz pistol. Very nice gun. The first addition: crimson trace grip. It gives the grip a very nice feel.

I have a 9mm CZ shadow SP01 very nice just out of the box, great pistol! looking for loads useing the berry 124 grain AP50N OAL length required! any advice thanks would be welcome

Dear Hay,

I have a P-01 and a Cz-83.

I find that both guns have the same 'feel' to them, the obvious difference in the size of the weapon making them different, yet similar enough that they feel nearly the same. That was the primary reason I bought my CZ-83; the other was i wanted a smaller weapon for EDC.

I think if the CZ-83 had rubber grips similar to my P-01, I would be a very, very happy camper!

Hope this helps. P-01 is a fine choice, and getting a Kadet Kit is a wise plan.

Thanks. I put some grips4u wooden grips on my CZ 82 - love them. I'll look a bit longer for a P-01 I can hold, but I think in this case, I may just buy one, even if I can't find one to hold, first . . . it is a CZ, after all!

I too, tried to find a dealer around here who had one so that I could hold it for myself but called every gun store within 50 miles with no luck so I went ahead and ordered a 75 D Compact. I got it yesterday and went straight to the range. I put 200 rds thru it with no issues at all! I love this new member of the "family"! It is awesome!

Just picked up my new p-01 from the shop yesterday. I finger f'ed it all night long and love it. Now we need to go On a date. To the range. This is my first cz. It's funny cause everyone I tell about it says " why did u get a cz" "what's so special about the cz" "you should have got a sig" bla bla bla. Ill just keep it to my self and keep them in the dark ;). Thanks guys for helping me in my decision to get this pistol.

When I decide to order my CZ 75 P-01, I would also like to order a light & laser for the said pistol. Can anyone in the group suggest which particular light & laser will fit well on the M3 rail of the P-01? I am more incline to buy the smallest light & laser unit for the P-01.

Hello my name is **** and I have a problem..I'm addicted to my new P01. I find mind wandering to the thought of being on the range everyday shooting it. No kidding its one of my fav guns I love it. Accurate and most importantly its reliable! It required no break in. I shot the heck out of it for the first time last week. Over 400 rounds and not one failure of any sort. Only grips is a gritty trigger that is slowly starting to smooth out and small imperfection in the finish as well such a beautiful gun should be finished on the inside as well. I dont care what reason they give the public its to keep the cost down. Factory mags rattle with full capacity however with only 14 they don't. The Mecgar one don't rattle at all. The gun is keeper, all of these little things just add character in my opinion and I think this little guy is one of the bigger bargains out there! Its now my carry gun. I ordered several holsters of which 2 or on backorder one is en route, for now its in a plain ole Uncle Mike IWB.

Hi everybody. I have been really interested in CZ for some time now, and have been trying to find a P-01 for several months. A local shop told me in early march that they could have one for me in late may, i picked it up two days ago! I am really excited about it and the shop thew in a box of ammo for free on my arrival so i put 30 rds through right away. I was really amazed at how smooth the action and cycling of this pistol was right away (very little recoil). Needless to say i love it. I just got rid of my g23 and it was a great pistol but i will never buy polymer again (just not for me). I ordered the original CZ 75 Compact THIN Coco Bolo Full Checker grips the second i got home and they should be here may2 will post pics when they come in. I noticed that the rubber base plate on the mag is a little bit bulky. Since i plan on carrying this weapon i would like to "slim" down the profile as much as possible besides buying a new mag from mec-gar does anybody know anything about base plate replacements or have any other ideas? Anyway im really excited about my new pistol and about being a new member of the cz community thanks!

I just picked up my P-01.

I had been looking for a P-01 for a long time. I finally stumbled on one yesterday, and brought it home. I've been carrying the SP-01 Phantom as my EDC for a while, and I've been waiting to switch it out for the P-01.

Have the Sig P229, FNP 40 and M&P 9. Then I got the CZ P-01. It immediately became my favorite. Very sweet shoot. (Not especially crazy about the way it breaks down though.)

I just I just picked up my first CZ a P-01. I have been looking for a sp01 tactical for a while..... the shop had the p01 in it now for about a month so I pulled the trigger.... still loooking for the sp01 tactical.

will take it to the range this weekend.

Had a 75 BD Police a few years ago and for some reason I sold it. :'( Regretted it ever since. A month or so ago ran across the P01 at the LGS. It was over priced but it called to me so I took it home!

Will not be the only CZ I own either. ;D

Finally have my P01 coming!!!! Got lucky & got one of the last ones from Impact Guns in Utah. I've spent the last 6 months trying to find one - but was always too late. Impact had PCR's & P01's (don't know how many they had in stock) but over the course of 1 weekend they were completely sold out.

I love my p-01, odered a defensive carry package for it. I wil post the results after installation. I tell everybody I work with how good cz are. A lot of them have never heard of cz.

All my CZ purchases were quick finds that didn't last long on the market. My SP01 was from Grabagun a year ago and they had 3 for 5 minutes. I got a P01 last week from Impact (pre-ordered) after not seeing any for sale for a long time. I really wanted a P06, but after all, I got into 9mm only to use CZs. Can't find a P06 anywhere an maybe I don't want one now.

The P01 is even better in hand than the 75B, but with the worst trigger and sights imaginable. It'll be a project to get it as smooth as my 75 Omega or SP01, but this is exactly how a 9mm pistol should feel.

Don't give up on the P-06. It's everything you love about the P-01 with the added bonus of more stopping power in 40S&W. Yes they are very hard to find but worth every penny when you do find one. It was pure dumb luck that I found my P-06 at my favorite LGS.

I'm a new P-01 owner. I couldn't be happier. My trigger out of the box had no grit at all. A little heavy on the DA of course. So after a couple of trips to the range I ordered and installed the CGW SPGK1 kit. Easy install even for a gun-smithing noob.

This forum is a great source of info and I really appreciate the time the members have devoted to share their knowledge and passion for CZ's.
