Well, my .270 got it's first kill this deer season. Took a mature doe with a neck shot at about 150yds. This was on a management ranch. They need to take 30 does off, so I did my part. ;D I leave Saturday on a 3 day hunt on a local wildlife refuge. I'm allowed 1 buck, 1 doe (or 2 does), unlimited nilgai and feral hogs. I'm really hoping to take a big bull nilgai with that .270. After Christmas I'll post again to let ya'll know how it goes (hopefully with pictures). 8)

Day 1 of my 3 day hunt went very well. Day 2 was very windy and we saw no animals. Day 3 we got rained out.
On day 1 we got to the field, and I hadn't been set up 30 minutes. Began to glass the tree line 250yds in front of me and spotted this young bull trotting along, quartering toward me. I busted him in front of his right shoulder and the bullet lodged under the hide just behind his left shoulder. ;D
The pictures were taken by one of my hunting buddies when we got him out of the meat cooler, got him to my house to skin and quarter him up. At this point he had already been field dressed and weighed about 300lbs.
