Title: CZ Addict
Post by: Unregistered(d) on June 20, 2006, 12:45:50 AM
Hello,

My name is Pete and I am a CZ Addict.  I just bought another CZ-75, a CZ-75B SA to be exact.  This brings my collection up  to 3 CZ-75s, 1 CZ-85, 1 CZ 2075 RAMI, 3 CZ-83s, 1 CZ-452 and a CZ-Kadet. I have already gotten rid of two CZ-40Ps, two CZ-75Bs and a CZ-97B.  I can't seem to stop buying more CZs. Please help. Send money to the help Pete buy more CZs fund.  A trigger finger is a terrible thing to waste.

Seriously now. Just got a new CZ-75B SA in 9mm.  Great gun, shoots 1/2" groups at 7 yards range, but the sights are a bit off. The gun definately shoots high.  As I am probably going to use this as a competion gun that is no issue, I will get a set of new sights anyway.  I already replaced the grios with Hogue wraparounds.  The trigger is next, right now it is a bit gritty.  I will need to fire it in or get a trigger job.  No need to lighten it, I like the stock SA pull just fine, just prefer not to the grittiness as I pull it.  I guess I am just spoiled by the smooth SA pull on my 10 year old CZ-75B.

Hi, I'm Cliff and I'm a CZaholic (HIC...).  I can't get enough of the smooth DA trigger and crisp SA trigger pulls.  At last count I had 2 CZ83's, a CZ75 (pre-B), a CZ75BD, a CZ75 Retro, a CZ75 Semi-Compact, 2 CZ75 Compacts (indifferent finishes), a CZ75 Kadet, a CZ85 and a CZ85B, and a scattering of CZ75 transitionals and B's. Don't get me started on the clones, please.  CZ's are like salted peanuts, you can't have just one.

Granted, condition terminal.  Will let you know when I am next in your fair city.  Maybe we can discuss members of collection going to good home (best done over good meal and spiritous beverages).  I can't trust my brother to do the right thing.

Cliff, pardner, you are welcome at my home anytime!  Bring $$, CZ's and plenty of ammo and we'll have a ball!!

Sin City has so many diversions that we may never get to the range, but then again, that ain't so bad either!!

Any particular range that you prefer in your fine city?  I have stopped by The Gun Store on East Tropicana, American Shooter on Arville, and Discount Firearms on Highland (check me on that, I took a ride on the disoriented express to find it).

Also, is there a Wally World around for ammunition acquisition?

Cliff!

When I shoot indoors I go to American Shooters, nice folks and they let you shoot your own ammo.  There are a bunch of Wal-Marts, but nothin' real close to A.S.

Hi, I'm Steve, I'm a Sagitarius, I like cuddling and long walks by the beach, my favorite colors are satin nickle and black polymer, and my CZ collection is a 40B, 40P, Kadet and 75B.  (Then she usually walks off).

BTW, we should have a Las Vegas forum members shoot.  Even better, we should have a CZ forum-wide get together.  Hmm, it has to be someplace easy and cheap to fly too, gun friendly, maybe the frequent host of something big like the SHOT show, lots of things to do besides shooting for when your arms and hands get tired, lots of nice scenery of "mountains and canyons", plenty of parking and hotel space...

Steve!

What a great idea!  Some guys over on The High Road do that here once in awhile, but they are NOT CZaholics like we are!

Denizens of Sin City unite!

How about scheduling this get-together for a time that coincides with a) the SHOT Show and/or b) a gun show in town?  Team that up with a mass visit to a number of indoor ranges and fine dining establishments...who knows?  Thoughts are invited.  We would need a hotel/casino/resort with reasonable nightly rates...any thoughts?

The real problem with this addiction is that it leads to uncontrolled buying of CZ clones.  Mutation of the CZ virus, I figure.

I find myself with several Tanfoglios now as well as my CZ's.....will the madness ever end?!:p

Sorry mate, the infection mutates, and with it a succession of clones are added to the collection.  My own collection has the representatives from the TZ75 (original TZ75 and Series 88 models, full and compact; An EAA Witness, full and compact; a BTA90 compact, a pair of AT84S (in two finishes, both full-size); and from the Springfield P9 and a P9C).  It just gets worse.  Now I'm looking for a SAB G90/91.

My name is Matthew and I have a CZ addiction. Like many of you I thought "what's ONE CZ-75 going to do?" No harm in trying it. Since that first time, my Browning Hi-power just doesn't do it for me anymore so I rarely take it out of the safe. Those 13 round magazines just don't pack the punch they once did. Before I knew it I was patrolling local gun shows and added another CZ-75, a poly-coat and nearly new. But that only satisfied me for a while before I was going online to hunt down a matte blued CZ-75 with night sights, also nearly new. Okay I started to realize I might have a problem as the 9mm isn't even my favorite handgun cartridge. It's only three... I'm not totally out of control. I was saving and waiting for a stainless 85 Combat and then I just HAD TO HAVE a stainless CZ-75B...and a CZ-452 Scout for the kid...

So far it seems to be limited to genuine CZ's but I must admit that I have eyed a Solothurn...

My name is Matthew and I have a problem.

Matthew, I feel your pain (such as it is).  Don't give up, the CZitis is not an easy cross to bear.  The only relief that I have found is to expose fellow shooters to the CZ line of pistols.  It is sometimes satisfying to trun them loose with a pistol and a mag of ammunition, then see the big smile and the look in the eyes (like another fanatic has been born).

I had started by reading about the legendary CZ75 in an article  by Leroy Thompson.  When I stumbled across one at a gun show (the vendor was selling it for his son, whose wife was on a rampage about anything he might like), and then I introduced a couple of shooting friends to the pistol (one of which ended up buying a, forgive me, Beretta 92).  On the last trip to the range I exposed a neighbor to the CZ, now he is looking at a couple more 'toys' to take to the range.

Pass it on, that is the only temporary relief you will find.  The world needs more CZ fanatics.

I too got hooked on CZ pistols. Currently have 75B and 75B compact for carry. Sold my 40P for a good price, now wish I had another one of those again. Also have CZ o/u shotgun.  I think I need a larger gun safe (for future CZs:D

My name is Lisa, and here is my story:

It all started in October, 2006. Went to a local gun shop with my boyfriend so he could pick up a beretta CX4 PX4 Carbine in 9mm. While he was doing the paperwork, I was, of course, looking at the guns. Then something told me to look up. As I did, I noticed a beautiful 30th Anniversary Edition CZ 75B on the wall. My heart started racing and my palms sweating. I had to touch it. So, I wiped the sweat from my hands and asked to see the gun. The second I had it in my hand, I knew I had to have it. So, I put some cash down and picked it up on my very next payday. I shoot it all the time and absolutely love it. In February, 2007, I got a CZ 452 Ultra Lux bolt action .22lr rifle. That brings us to March. I went back to the same store where I got my rifle and ordered a CZ 40P that I plan to use as my CCW.So, that's 3 CZ's in five months, and I think of my next CZ acquisition and smile.

Lisa!

Your story brings tears to my eyes!  I was really touched by your honesty!  We do not judge here, we just accept!  And m'am YOU ARE A CERTIFIED CZaholic!!

Congratulations on your collection, I know you'll love your CZ 40P--it's a great pistol.

I messed up the finish on mine, so I had it redone as a "Desert Tactical" what do you think?

I like the "Desert Tactical" look. I've been thinking about picking up one of the stainless 75B's. In fact, if they had had one of those in stock, I probably would have bought it instead of ordering the 40P. Now I just have to think of a way to convince my boyfriend that I really do need another CZ....maybe birthday or Christmas.....:D

Oh yeah. I've become A CZaholic. Glad to know there are others....
It all started with a CZ83 in .380. Then progressed to a 75B. Now I'm looking at other models trying to decide what's next. So many CZ's, so little time....

I think I might be done...for a while:b

Started off with a 452 American.  Next was my 75BD...then the Kadet conversion, and just today got my PCR pre-tuned from Matthew Mink.  So far, everything has been 100%.

Next up on the list of wants is an AR, but I'm just starting to look at houses so that might take a back burner for a while.  Hopefully not too long (lest I lose the opportunity permanently).

The story of the messed up finish on that now very fine pistol is bitter sweet.  I'll let Otto share it, but it brings a tear to the eye to read about it and then look at the beauty born from a mistake sent from heaven.  I like that finish, Otto.

P.S.  Unfortunately just my wife is headed to Sin city next week end for a girls get away and I don't get to go.>:   Next time they go, Otto, I am stopping by your place for a CZAnon meeting!!!:evil :evil :evil   I'll bring the ammo!

Picked up a new semi compact today - #7 in my accumulation.  My addiction started 20+ years ago when I picked up the first one and bought it before asking the price!  Have never held a cZ I didn't like.  My only regret is not purchasing more some years ago when they were so cheap.  However, that was in another country.  Still have some in other countries.  Looking for a cZ 75 DAO.
