Title: SP01 main spring replacement
Post by: OUL on March 30, 2009, 03:25:27 PM
I have a SP01 that had some work done by Angus. The main spring was changed to 13 lb. I was having some FTF with my Kadet kit and was told that I need at least a 17 lb to correct the problem. I installed the new heavier spring but when I put it back together I must have done something to the magazine break as now the mag will not drop without me pulling on it? What did I do? Is the mag break necessary?

You probably don't have it all the way down in the little slot by the mainspring plug.  Pull your grips off and look at the mainspring.  Bowed is bad.  Look for the slot at the bottom of the frame by the spring hole - is your brake all the way down inside that slot?

You need to keep the mainspring to keep your mag from hanging up on the back of the frame & and spring when loading your mags.
