Title: snap cap technique
Post by: avalanche on April 09, 2009, 10:05:29 PM
I have about 250 rounds though my sp01 tac. and the trigger is still a little rough so I bought snap caps to speed up the smoothing process.  I'm mainly concerned with the single action pull.  I'm wondering if I should shoot the snap caps in single action or if it makes no difference.

thanks

I would think you'd get more benefit shooting it double action as that would require more movement of the action components.

the SA is dependent on the relation between the sear and the hammer hooks. it will smooth just slightly, but not a whole bunch. to smooth out and make the SA nice..work has to be done on it.

the DA will work in when you work the action..do dryfire will smooth the DA out..it won't lighten, but some of the grit will smooth away.
