A big giant thanks to the guys a the custom shop!! Thanks for the help and the speed of service!
I went to my local FFL to pickup my new shadow but had a hard time get the guys to let me have it...lots of ooos and ahhhs...and plenty of grief for the red grips. I really am glad I got the red ones!
While there we compared a 75 that was in the case...no surprise I guess but it wasn't even close to feeling the same.
I left that shop and went up the road to the shop/indoor range and put a quick 100 rounds through her. WOW what a nice shooter. The first mag was basically a ragged hole at 10 yards...I had a couple flyers but only because the range is SOOOO loud inside...and I got jumpy from the guy next to me blazing away.
Just thought you guys might want to know...

Nice. Enjoy and welcome.

Congrats on your new purchase. I go to the range during the week days at opening time. I usually have the place to myself. 8)

Nice! Looks just like my shadow except you have a polished barrel. How did you polish it?

Beautiful gun. Thanks for the review! :)

The polished barrel hood is part of the Custom Shadow package, not sure how they do it.
-
Very nice. I like the grips on it. Plus I fixed your title and yes Angus and Rob do rock.
-
Nice looking Shadow. I LOVE the red aluminum grips!! Are you going to use that thing in USPSA for Production division or just a range gun? ;)

Well Addict - I might just shoot some production this year. I got "promoted" to C class the day after she landed in town last week...that to me is Karma...I'm 0.26 % away from C in SS...ugg
I'm going to use it next weekend, along with Angus, (well, he'll BE there too) at the Blue Ridge 3 Gun in KY. Seems none of you local guys wanted to go... 8) I didn't know Angus was going until I just looked at the squad list. I'm not on his squad which would be cool but I'm hoping to be a little more mixed in with the "beginner class"...I don't think our local side matches are quite the same...and yes...I'm in WAY over my head with this match but it WILL be fun. I hope to get lots of pics and video. Drive down with the Mrs...you can run a camera.
Here is a link to the match. (http://www.brm3g.com/)
Here is a link to the beautiful park. (http://parkmammothresort.us/index.htm)
Thanks MrsArmor!

Looks like a heck of alot of fun! Thought you were going to do Fort Benning this year? I recognize one other local, Jeff on the squad list and a couple of USPSA Youtube phenomenon, Angus and Kaci. Try and convince his CZness to do the Ohio State Championship in October. Me and the Misses will be doing that. Sorry cant run the camera for you - have to do the MRPC that weekend. I wanna see that sweet Shadow run on the following week! Be safe at the 3 gun match and enjoy meeting all the new folks.

It should be mentioned that Rob is a GM too! You can find a few vids of him shooting on youtube and on this forum.

I shot the shadow in competition for the first time last weekend. It ran like a top. I also spoke to Angus briefly. He was a friendly sort.
This was a 3 gun event and I was allowed to run it cocked and locked -- Single action. I really like this with this gun...I'm afraid this could lead to a .40 limited cz.
It should be noted that the gun does not seem to like blazer aluminum. I found out during practice with a bunch of mixed ammo - not during comp. I'm not particularly a fan of AL cases but just thought I'd mention it.
At the 3 gun event I got to check out a really nice CZ Open gun...maybe he'll share pics? He gave me a heads up on parabelluminc.com for the very cool texture on his grips. Thanks!

hk_mtbr,
Aren't you from NKY?
Where was the 3-gun match, and what was your impression of Parabellum's stuff? They are outta Louisville, correct?
You of course don't have to divulge if you aren't comfortable doing so..... I just recognized names and places local to me (I'm NKY too), and wondered if I missed something big.

What a great looking Shadow. The gun just pops out at you in the pictures. I can't believe how much a differance the red grips make. Hope you have many hours of enjoyment with the Shadow. Good luck.

The 3gun was near Mammoth Cave KY. www.brm3g.com Blue Ridge Mtn 3 Gun...it was a 3 day multi-gun event.
Multi-gun because they had two sniper rifle stages...a Barrett 50 BMG on one and a Remy 700 .308 on another...I highly recommend the event for next year. But you'd better be in shape to haul all the equip around...this was my first REAL 3G and that might not have been the best to start with...3 long days and LOTS to remember...breathe...breathe...
I haven't used para yet but the other guy had them refinish a shadow and add some "rubbery" texture on the grips where the skate tape was. It looked very nice and the shooter seemed pleased too.
For what it is worth...there is a rifle side match after the uspsa pistol match outside oxford ohio this Sunday...if you are in the area...
And NKY...sort of...not really anymore... >:(...I moved across the river recently...now an OH resident.

Sent you a PM, as I didn't wanna drift the thread...

I have to ask you how much that beautiful piece of firearms cost you out the door?
I would love something of a similar nature in the future.
