Thanks for the heads-up on the safety issue in my earlier post - still learning my way around the gun. Has anyone ordered the factory cocobolo "thin" grips and put them on an 85? Are they thinner than the plastic grips that are standard? I have small hands and would like a better grip on the trigger when shooting double-action.
-
The thinnest grips I have seen are the aluminum grips. I didn't really like them but they are thin.
Take Care

Bob,
Yeah, I had assumed that but just can not bring myself to put them on it.
-
from a forum search :
some measurements that might help. These are on a 75 frame ( same width as SP01 ) measured on the grip at the grip screw.
CZ aluminum are 1.115
CZ TS grips are 1.235
Hogue finger grip 1.247
CZ Thin Cocobolo 1.365
CZ Factory Rubber 1.400
-
the rubber grips and the CZ cocobolo grips have palm swells and are thinner in other areas of the grips. the TS grips, aluminum grips and the Hogue grips are relatively flat in comparison
-
I concur with Stuart. I have the Hogue half-checkered Cocobolo grips on my CZ75b, and those are about as flat(and thin) as you are liable to get, outside of making your own. The CZ aftermarket wood grips are a touch more "bulgy", but still good feeling and very attractive.
-
Also did the half-checker cocobolo thin grips. Love 'em. It's easily the most comfortable gun I have to shoot.

Thanks - what are the best websites to get the Hogue grips from?

Can anyone tell me where I can see the Aluminum ones for sale?..
Other than the CZ site?..
Are there Black anodized ones with checkering?

EERW
mate, do the TS aluminium grips fit well on 75B/SP01 etc?
It appears you have the measurements for most grips available, do you have the size for large aluminium grips?
Cheers, Ando.
-
Ando..
IIRC..the TS grips do fit..they are just a different length because of the magwell options.
I do not have any measurements of the thick aluminum grips vs the thin aluminum grips.

CZ Custom and CZ-USA and CZUB website stores are the only places I have seen them.
if interested..I have a bunch of photos of different sets.

I'd be interested in some pics Stuart ;D
Do you have any experience with the Hogues? I see that they list a G10 micarta set of grips on the website that interest me much. Tried contacting them via their contact form and through their rep Ken (from SigForum) but couldn't get a rundown from either. No pics, and no description unfortunately. I tried like hell to get someone to dupe the cocobolos (or a hair thinner) in G10, but no one would take on the project unfortunately.

I talked with Larry Davidson..and he said he was still considering doing some CZ grips.
I have seen some of the Hogue wood grips and the aluminum grips..they reminded a lot of the TS grips on the gun.
I have a buddy here that has access to some CNC and he has a set of the CZ aluminum grips..so seeing what he can do with the pattern and some textures.
-
Welllll.... Crap. I wish Larry would get moving on the project. I sent him a ton of stuff to use as patterns, and I know that he bought a '75 for himself. I think he was just pretty busy at the time, and then the whole Obama thing happened which I'm sure only pushed him back even more. He said he was planning on turning out some all new lines for a couple different platforms, which would be way cool.
I actually just got off the phone with Hogue and ordered a set of their G10 grips. Bad news is they won't be ready for ~1 month. Will be something interesting to try, anyways.
I don't mind the TS grips (I'm currently running them on my Kadet), so if they are similar in shape, they might be iight.
Keep us updated on what happens with your buddy; I'm all about new CZ stuff to try out.

Ahhhh, your CZ's make me jealous Stuart.
That post and the thickness post should be archived somewhere for future reference. Excellent pictures showing the differences in the majority of the available CZ grips. Thank you much!

Stuart what a great collection of CZ's and grips. Very nice.

Hi EERW, I am considering new grips for my 75. I have the original vintage plastic - from your experience with 75's which are the most practical grips for day to day use or carry?
Thanks
Jambo

for me personally..I like the flat aluminum..I still put a little grip tape..not as big..and the gun carries well under a shirt.
-
The black checkered aluminum grips are all me ........ and they resemble the stock rubber.
