So, I just picked up an SP-01. The factory 18 (19?) round mags drop free when I thumb the mag release, but the 16-round Mec-Gars I have for use with my CZ75 SA stick in the mag well.
My first thought is that it's the rubber grip panels. I may try swapping on the plastics from the SA to see if it eliminates the issue; if it does I'll pick up some wood or plastic grips for the SP01.
Just curious whether anyone else has had this issue?

haven't seen that in any of my guns..but the MecGar mags seem to be a thicker guage steel than the 18/19rnd mags.
might just take the grips off and see which mags drop..and go go from there.

Well, without the grips all mags drop free.
With the grip screws not tightened too much, the mags all drop free. I'm not used to rubber grips, all my other pistols have either wood or plastic and tight is pretty easy to find. I think I was compressing the rubber grips into the metal frame a hair too much and it was hanging up some of the mags.
Problem solved, it seems. Thanks for the help!
