I want to replace the rear sight on my CZ82 (the currently installed sight is stamped #2) with a #5 sight. It's now hitting 5-6 inches below my point of aim at 25 feet and it's driving me nuts. Anybody know where I can order a #5 sight?

How would changing the rear sight help you, on handguns rear sights generally control windage, fronts sights elevation. The height of the front sight is all that would effect elevation. I own several of these handguns and I don't think there are any replacment sights for them other than CZ 75 night sights which will also fit the CZ 82/83 rear sight dovetail and front inline dovetail cutout.

Rear sight height differs. Under "sight adjustment" The CZ 83 manual says, "Elevation correction is carried out by exchanging rear sights for higher or lower sizes."

Then your only option would be through CZUSA. Never seen them anywhere else and a goggle search turns up nothing. I own 3 CZ 82's and one has a #2 stamped on the sight and the other two have nothing stamped on the rear sights. The handgun with the #2 shoots POA out to 30 feet. Are you just assuming the rear sight numbers would go up to #5? Just adjusting your sight picture will likely work.

I first time or two I had it out to the range, I thought maybe there was something wrong with my technique, but I've had other guys shoot it with the same results. I guess I could just adjust my sight picture to compensate. If the whole rear-sight thing turns out to be a bust, I guess that's the answer I'll have to live with.
I ran across a really excellent post (including closeup photos of a couple CZ rear sights) from a long-time CZ82 owner who described how he replaced the rear sights on one of his with a CZ factory replacement sight from a CZ75. He said he ordered them through CZ (which I took to mean CZ-USA). Unfortunately, I didn't bookmark the post or print it out. If I do run across it, I'll share it here.
I did hit pay dirt while searching for the lost post a couple minutes ago. I ran across a thread on another gun board (http://www.gunandgame.com/forums/czech-firearms/86834-what-does-your-cz-82-like.html (http://www.gunandgame.com/forums/czech-firearms/86834-what-does-your-cz-82-like.html)) on exactly this topic and somebody had a link to the exact page on the CZ-USA site listing fixed rear sights for the CZ75 ( https://shop.cz-usa.com/item_detail.aspx?ItemCode=0330074005). Bingo.
Going with the #5 is pure guesswork, but at $9.00 it seems like a pretty low-risk investment. Now that I know where to go for it, I can always pick up a #4 or #3 if I need to. I'll keep you posted.

Great, glad you found the link and for only $9 you can get whatever numbers you need. let us know how it turns out.

Has anyone seen a cZ rear sight like this? It feels like a hard plastic not paint build-up. My other CZ 82 has the normal 2 dot rear sight.

All the CZ-82s I have seen had all-steel rear sights with standard white dots. I've never seen any with plastic inserts.

Could this sight be from another CZ model? I know that sights from 75s and 83s will fit. As I looked at it last night, I did notice two places it was staked. It must be a replacement then.
I think I like this type of sight but I haven't shot this pistol yet so I don't know how well it works (or how I work with it ??? ).
