Title: CZ 52 finish
Post by: camekanix on April 21, 2010, 05:53:51 PM
Hi all,
I have 2 CZ 52's. One is a 53 model with a grey finish and the other is a 54 model with a matte black finish. Are both finishes original or only the grey?? The grey one looks to have been shot quite a bit but the black looks unissued. Both have matching barrel, frame and slide #'s
Thanks!

The gray finish is the original Parkerized finish that the pistol shipped to the Czechoslovak army in.  The black finish is the "rearsenalled" finish applied by CZ Brno in the mid-Nineties before selling the pistols as surplus.  Both are "original" in the sense that the CZ arsenals did them.  They are not the product of a hobbyist.

That's better news than I expected ;D
I figured the black was an importer refinish. Thanks for the input!!
