In April of 2009 I bought the Competition Rear and Fiber Optic front sights for my 75B and really like them.
Today while shooting at a steel shoot, the Comp Rear sight broke in half just above the rear edge of the dovetail.
I remember a post some time back where it also happened to someone else. Is there something that causes this??
Last year I installed and adjusted it for accuracy with a brass punch. Was that a mistake?
Right now the Custom Shop shows "out of stock". When I can get one, I need to get it installed fast. Is a punch OK or is a sight pusher necessary?

Rob brought me up to speed about the 'fitting' that's sometimes required for the rear 'Competition' sight. That's why having the Custom Shop do the work is the best alternative.
I had never read/heard about possibly needing to remove a very small amount of metal from the bottom of the sight body, behind the dovetail to 'clear' the slide. The sight will go on (very tight fit) but is under tension against the slide and after enough slide cycles CAN break.
As always, CZ and The Custom Shop are the greatest.

Saw this myself recently at a match, one of the only shops in the area to carry cz parts insists that you pay for them to install the part or they won't sell it to you. They have been pulling this for awhile and they install the comp sights by force instead of doing it the right way. Long story short someones sight snapped last month half way through the match.

I installed my new sight last night and zeroed it today. It cleared the slide so a visible line of light could be seen below the sight.
My smile has returned.
