Title: SP-01 Tactical
Post by: khoiey on June 25, 2010, 12:46:15 AM
Hello,

I've been lurking here for about several weeks.  I tried to look around for the CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical 9mm around my area but there aren't any dealer carrying it.  If I have to buy it online, which one has the best reputation and competitive price?

As far as online, most of the pictures aren't exactly the same as the original picture posted on CZ website.  Some have no rail and some only have 2 notches instead of 3?  So I'm a bit skeptical of buying handguns online.

All new ones have 3 slots. Older ones came with 2 slots only.
Call czcustom and see if they can meet you someplace half-way.
I have nothing but praises for them!!!!

Does the older 2 notches have different model number than the newest one?  How would you rate the sp-01 tactical out of the box?   What kind of tunes do you think I will need with this model?

I dunno about 'model number' - they all were and still are called CZ 75B Tactical. Out of the box - no issues, shoots great. Tuning - I'd recommend polishing feed ramp and chamber, make sure longer 147gr bullets don't lock slide stop during feeding, match main and recoil springs to your shooting needs and ammo if needed.

When cleaning gun for the first time BEFORE shooting - take grip panels off and wipe excess oil of, take apart mags - wipe them dry. Cotton cloth around old toothbrush will get you thru mags and mag well on the gun.

Stay safe, have fun :)

from  my  own  experience,  getting  anything  from  CZ custom/GHOST products  from  their  online  store  is  realy  a  nice  and  smooth  experience.  those  people  are  downright  business  oriented,  no  lies  and  a  great  CS.

I'd second Top Gun Supply. Very fast service. No hassle. They had my local gun shop license # on file. I just filled in the order form with my CC# and 3 days later my LGS called to come & pick up my new P-01. I bought spare mags from them too. The same fast, accurate shipment.

When you get it, be very, very careful when removing the grips for cleaning. I almost had a coronary when I thought I stripped the threads in the frame of my brand new, never-shot gun that I only had in my hands for 1.5 hours.

Not to burst bubbles but on the other side of that, ordered 8 items from them, 6 where wrong and no replies to my 4 emails or my reply when they emailed to ask about my experience with them.
