Hello all,
I just picked up my new CZ Kadet Conversion kit for my Shadow. After some minor filing and getting the upper to fit the frame I notice that my slide has stamped on it: CZ 75 Kadet 2
I've googled and search and everything comes up Kadet but nothing on the Kadet 2. I've checked the images and everything "looks" the same.
Not sure about the Kadet but mine has the Tritium/glow in the dark 3 dot, adjustable rear night sights.
Anybody have info on this?
Thanks.
-
they modified a version to fit the Omega triggered guns. could be that.
-
FYI
Just received a Kadet from CZ-custom--It's also a Kadet 2
stash

Found one difference...
The height profile of the Kadet 2 kit is shorter than the Kadet kit.
With the Kadet fitted onto the Shadow frame, the pistol will not fit into the Shadow specific Bladetech holster, is the case with my buddy's Shadow/ Kadet kit.
My Shadow/ Kadet 2 combo fits perfectly into my Bladetech Shadow holster. NICE... but I'm now using a Ghost holster.
Cheers.
-
Do you have a picture of your Kadet 2 on the Shadow?
I wonder if this is the new version for the Shadow etc that is promised to be released "in the coming months" on www.czub.cz? (http://www.czub.cz?)
-
Please, post pix of Kadet 2 if possible.
I got Kadet (original) and while on 75SA frame, it fits BT holster for 75SA perfectly, no issues whatsoever.
My Shadow seems to have a little tighter frame and I don't want to fit Kadet to Shadow just to have it 'loose' on 75SA.
-
Well, I ordered myself a Kadet kit today, I hope to have it in my hand before the end of next month (have to get a license etc). Will post pictures if it's the new version. ;D
-
Anyone heard anything else about these? Have pics or a comparison?
I have something new in mind and knowing the difference would help me a lot. Specifically in regards to this "height" difference.

Ah, well that explains that. I noticed a month or so ago that when I had a Kadet top end on my Shadow it wasn't fitting in my Bladetech DOH.
-
Well, actually getting the Shadow into my hands did take some time, but here's some long overdue (crappy) pictures!
From the first test firing. Worked just fine despite -20C, my thumbs was what stopped working first.

Kadet mounted on my Shadow, needed a little filing on the front rails on the kit, not that difficult.

At the range.

It's a Kadet 2, don't think there's a big difference compared to the previous version.

I E-mailed CZ-USA asking about the Kadet 2 for the Omega trigger guns - this is what they told me.
"The Kadet 2 is for the 75 Omega. It will not work with the P-07 Duty"
-
Falcn,
That wraps it up in a few words.
-
I didnt even know there was a Kadet 2 until I saw this post.. Checked mine and it's also a Kadet 2.. Got it from a Swedish vendor with my Shadow last week..
Works great though.. :) Had a few clicks but that is probably due to everything needing to be broken in a little..

I'm new to the CZ world and don't know what a "75 Omega" is.
I'd like to know if the Kadet 2 will work with an SP-01 Tactical

The Kadet adapter i got earlier this month had "Kadet Adapter cal .22 lr compatible w/Omega trigger" Printed on the cardboard sleeve covering the plastic pistol case, but the slide on the adapter is marked Kadet, not Kadet 2.
-
Any difference in the extractor? Shape/material/etc?
Just curious...
-
Which works on the CZ 2075 Rami Alloy 9mm, Kadet or Kadet 2? Thanks.
-
Well, shiver me timbers, I went and looked -mine certainly does say Kadet 2. It was made in 2011 according to the stamp, and works great on the P-01.

I just received a new Kadet 2 kit yesterday. I got out my digital caliper and measured it and my older Kadet and could find no significant differences in the dimensions. I first measured just the kits and found the height of the Kadet 2 was .005" less than the height of the Kadet 1. I then mounted the kits on my 75B frame and measured the overall height of both. Measuring from just in front of the rear sight to the front edge of the mag well (only place I could get a straight line) The overall height with the Kadet 1 was 5.164". With the Kadet 2 installed the height was 5.159". As I said, the differences were insignificant. The only actual difference was in the machining of the bottom of the slide. One slot was widened out to accommodate the Omega trigger system. The difference can be seen in the picture. Top slide is Kadet 1.

Does anyone know if it is possible to convert a kadet 1 kit to fit a SP-01 SHADOW? Has anyone done it?
This is because I already have an early model CZ75 kadet from about 1999 and I'll probably be buying a SP-01, I really don't to spend money on another kit, from the pics above it seems doable, but has anyone tried it?
-
Original Kadet kits ( kadet 1) will fit the SP01 Shadow.
The Kadet 1 kits will not work on the Omega guns. ( P02, 75B Omega)

Really!!?? That's great news! Thx for the info, I thought only the kadet 2 kit was compatible and that the first generation would need some hard core modifications.

From the CZ Catalog: The Kadet pistol is the perfect training or plinking pistol, weighted
and balanced just like the CZ 75B. Like its centerfire counterpart, the
CZ 75 Kadet is an all steel model complete with adjustable sights.
The CZ 75 Kadet conversion kit is a separate accessory for the CZ
75/85 pistol series allowing the firing of .22 LR caliber cartridges.
Includes 2-10 rd magazines that fit flush with grips of the full size CZ
75. 85 and SP-01 models. The Kadet conversion kit will work with CZ
75 compact models including the P-01, P-06 and PCR, but note that
the full size magazines will extend below the bottom of the compact
grips of these models. The Kadet conversion will not work on the
RAMI, 83, 97, 75 TS, SP-01 Phantom, P-09 or P-07 Duty models.

If Stuart says they'll fit the SP-01, you can bet the farm.

Pretty much all we are seeing are the Kadet 2 kits.
they fit pretty much everything except the P07, P09, Phantom, Rami, 97 and TS.
if you have a trigger job done on you base frame you may experience some light strikes. the Kadet is designed for the factory configuration.
seeing some modifications being done by forum members to get the kits to run with light springs, but you'll have to be willing to work on it yourself.
When I ran my kadet, I converted my base gun to SAO with a 17# hammer spring. I was able to run reliable enough for steel challenge matches with a good variety of ammunitions.

Hi Stu
Please could you help me understand some stuff about the original CZ Kadet (not the Kadet 2) adapter.
I have a CZ 75 SP01 Shadow Canadian Edition (CE) and the Kadet adapter kit.
I am seeing lots of reply's regarding the difference between the Kadet and Kadet 2.
Please see this reply from CZ UB about the Omega.
I wrote CZ UB and asked if they were going to install the Omega trigger system in their entire line of pistols. Here is their reply.
Dear Sir,
I can inform you that there are plans to integrate the Omega trigger system in most of our models, but this will take some time. Nevertheless, there are models where the Omega trigger system will never be used and this pertains especially to the Shadow model.
Yours faithfully,
MILAN KUBELE

The Canadian Edition has a trigger job done (to the best of my limited knowledge). here is a cut and paste from Grouse River website describing the CE differences.
These special Canadian editions feature a number of significant enhancements over the standard Shadow model. Most obvious is the aluminium long grooved grip in red with a laser engraved Maple leaf. However the major functional differences are in the tuning of the pistol completed by a CZ factory gunsmith. This tuning includes burnishing of the barrel and all functional surfaces, tuning the trigger mechanism, and installation of an 11lb recoil spring. The Canadian edition also comes with 3 magazines, each has an aluminium base in matching red to compliment the pistol's grip plates.
Here are my questions if you can answer them?
1) The omega trigger is not fitted to the Shadow, will the Kadet work with the CE with a trigger job without issue that may damage the Shadow?
2) In your above quote your refer to "light strikes". If using the Kadet with my CE that has had a trigger job done on it, can I expect "light strikes"?
3) What are "light strikes"?
In Canada the Kadet 2 is rare to find new or used. What do you suggest I do before firing the Kadet on my CE Shadow and finding out it is going to damage the Kadet or Shadow (springs)?.
Sorry for the long post!
Steve

"Light strikes" are where the firing pin DOES hit the shell but it does not hit it HARD ENOUGH to set it off. Rimfire firearms require a much harder strike to set them off, compared to centerfire guns. The problem with the KADET is if you have a "Tuned" gun with lighter springs that work fine 100% with your centerfire regular rounds you may get "Light strikes" or light "dents" on the back of you .22 LR shells which can lead to mis-fires.
What the Kadet experts suggest is a hammer spring of 17 pounds for 99.9% or 18 pounds for 100% reliability with the Kadet kit. Changing out the hammer spring is not hard to do, and various weights are available. So you are able to switch back and forth between hammer springs. :)

Besides including the SP-01 to the incompatible list everything else makes sense.
Thanks for all the great info either way and once again thanks Stuart for all of your help. CZCustoms FTW!

Will the Kadet or Kadet 2 work on the CZ 75 D compact?

The answer is in the post above yours.

Thanks Grendel.

My Kadet2 works on my RAMI pistols(both 9mm & 40cal), my 75B, P-01, and PCR with no problems!

So besides the original KADET (one) Upper, and the KADET II that has the typical thinned at the Muzzle, Slide Profile of the CZ75s
CZCustom offer a KADET 2 that sport the thicker Slide Profile of the B-SA
Also known for being "all steel" and will look "correct" on an SP-01 Frame
https://czcustom.com/cz-75-kadet-adapter-2-cal-22-lr-black-polycoat-91610.html
And it's not that newer Alloy version of the KADET SP01:
https://czcustom.com/cz-shadow-sp01-kadet-kit-22-lr.html
As it turns out CZ started making their newest KADET 2s with the B-SA or SP-01 style, "full rail" Slide Frame
From what I understand, they no-longer make the standard 75 style tapered Slide
I'd guess you'd have to call these, the KADET 2, 2.0 8)
