... And not a glitch. 50 rounds each Silver Bear and Brown Bear, flawless and inexpensive to shoot. That stuff sure stinks, though. It's not like the smells we grew up with here... I think I'll offset that on my next trip to the range, with a bunch of blackpowder loaded cartriges in my converted Remington 1858.. Turn the fans on guys, I'm coming...

I stopped shooting the "bear" stuff because of the smell. I found that the wolf rounds work just as well and smell more "traditional".

When you guys say it stinks, what smell is it more like? "Skunk-y?"
Also, what's the full brand name of the "wolf" rounds? Thanks!

I describe the stinky Bear ammo as "burning electrical tape" The Wolf stuff is labeled Wolf Military Classic or Wolf Performance Ammo, I think they are the same thing. Made in Russia, steel cases like the Bear varieties. I believe it is made in the Tula Ammo works so ammo with that label may also be the same stuff. It is available at sportsman's guide, but I don't see it at the other places I usually frequent for ammo.
Best, Eric

I still shoot the Brown Bear stuff on the odd occassion, but lately I mostly shoot the Silver Bear hollow points. I never noticed a bad smell, but then I always shoot at an outdoor range (maybe that's why).

I've mostly shot Silver Bear through mine, next in line are my reloads, and last is maybe 50 factory brass loads. I've never noticed a bad smell from Silver Bear.

No smelly rounds here either with silver bear, I hope to pick up some brown bear though. Only for smell testing , of course. O0

Just picked up some Sellier & Bellot 9mm Makarov "white box" at a gun show. I was hoping to find the elusive sintered rounds but I do not think I have. There is no mention on the box of the bullet weight just a part number NP39.57. They are packaged in 24 round boxes, perfect for the 82's 12 round mags. 2 mags= 1 box
the round looks to be a jacketed FMJ
No matter as the price was right, they will be fine for sending another paper target to meet its maker. I will hang onto a few to keep with the gun to keep the CZ company.
