Title: New 97BD owner
Post by: CZ_Shooter61 on December 29, 2010, 03:55:05 PM
I just picked a brand new 97BD, and all I can say is what a sweet pistol !! The fit and finish is awesome, I cant wait to shoot this bad boy.
I dont understand all of the talk about the huge grip, it fits my hand like it was made for me, and my hands arent giant.
Is it ok to dry fire it, or do I need to buy some snap caps?

Welcome to the world of CZ's, I would love to shoot the 97 if I could find someone who has one in the area. You should definitely buy some snap caps, if not for protecting the pistol, for practicing drills. BTW, A-Zoom snap caps are the best.

CZ's are not common in my area either. I took a gamble and bought my 97BD sight unseen and I am super happy with it.
Thanks for the snap cap advice.

Hello shooter and welcome.
Hope to see a range report and photos soon.
I agree that snap caps are a good idea.

I look forward to shooting it and posting a range report. The build/test fire date on my 97BD is 11-19-09, so it appears she was sitting in the case for over a year.
The feed ramp appears to be highly polished.

After researching all of the threads on 97 recoil springs, I just ordered a 16# Wolff spring.
Are there any other "mods" I should do to make my 97BD better?
Thanks
