Stuart in the Classified section is asking for a group buy for extended baseplates for the CZ75.
http://www.czforumsite.info/index.php?topic=37591.0 (http://www.czforumsite.info/index.php?topic=37591.0)
Now the CZ 82/CZ83 use the same baseplate (also Beretta 92/ SIG 226 and 229) so these might get us 16-20 rounds of 9X18 and even more in 32 cal.
I am in for one of each.

I am nixing the +2 adapter, you can buy that now for $13.95 from Top Gun Supply. Still want the +5 extension
This would get me 14-15 rounds of 9x18
Mec-Gar Adapter - PLUS 2 - B92/M9/P226 I am buying two today.
Mec Gar make the factory mags for Beretta, CZ and others so they are great quality.
One warning "Will only work on the Anti-Friction Coated magazines with plastic base plate. " so your existing mags will have to be really clean inside.

After carrying only 5-8 rounds for years, I guess I don't understand the real need- unless for range mags. Less loading=more shooting I can understand. With two oem mags, if I can't resolve a sticky situation... I've obviously severely failed at the 'awareness rule'.
I am interested to hear how the extensions work out though.

This is a common difference of opinion between Old Guard type guys, such as yourself, who are used to revolvers and 1911 pattern pistols and the "new breed" who are used to the "new" high capacity magazines.
My experience is that no supporting argument made by either side will sway the other. It's just what your used to and what you like.
Peace favor your sword,

;D I believe that was one of the nicer ways I've been called 'old'
If the +2's (or 5's!) are 100% functioning extensions in a CZ 82 and do not make the grip length baseball bat sized (way too hard to conceal- do able but tough) I'd consider them. That would make double or triple of what I'd normally consider 'sufficient' and preclude having to carry an extra most of the time.
That said , I prefer 30 rounders (lots of them) to 10 or 20's(the more of them, the merrier) in AR's and AK's...or c-mags(them spares are heavy!).

There isn't a real need for most of the stuff we have. I don't need this computer im using and I certainly don't need this delicious 44oz Mountain Dew I'm nursing. However, it is better to have too much toilet paper than none at all. I wish I could carry more ammo with my 82 but I don't want to carry an extra magazine. It seems for me that an extension to my CZ82 mag will be a nice happy medium. I'm 6'3" 260lbs. I wont have a difficult time concealing the mag extension on my pistol.

Hey I know I am old, I admit it. Shoot expert pistol in the navy but couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with those M14s
I still love the 1911, but can't shoot it now, with a broken elbow that didn't heal right and a shoulder that needed surgery for the last 25 years.
So low capicity is normal for me.
Just when I get my CCW in a few weeks, I want to carry without an extra mag rattling around.
I have shot maybe 3000 rounds throug my CZ52, about 800 through my Makarov and 100 through my CZ82.
Reloading the mags on the firing line sucks, I want to get up to 1000 rounds in the CZ82 as soon as possible.
I have already ordered $200 worth of "stuff" for my $199 CZ82. Fiber optic sights, wood grips, extended mags, Wolff springs on and on.
The Plus 2 bases don't look like they would be a problem carrying

There is absolutely nothing wrong being old. After a certain age, I think most of us are mentally the same. I'm 31 years old and I've seen 80 year old men laugh when I fart.
By the way, Have you heard of "old man strength"? There are plenty of youtube videos of old men beating the crap out of youngsters.

I don't want to chance feeding problems by trying to add more rounds to the -82's 13 rds capacity. I don't want to stay in the fight; I want to get the heck out of it!

In the summer, when wearing shorts and t-shirts, I carry a tiny 6 + 1 .380 ACP Taurus TCP. I used to carry a 7+1 Kimber 3" barreled .45 ACP in cooler weather. With both, I carried an extra mag. With both I felt confident I could handle whatever was thrown at me.
Now I am carrying my CZ 82. . . and a spare mag. I believe, however, that if I am in a postion I can't resolve with just a few rounds, I am in deep, deep kimchi and hope backup arrives, soon!
"No gun is too light when you carry it - and no gun is too big when you need it!"
I'm an old guy and proud of it - it means I survived!

Got the Plus 2 Mec Gar baseplates today. I used the mag I have with an extra long spring, figuring it is just what is needed.

Comes with a plactic holder and a new spring retainer. Simply took off the stock steel plate and twisted the spring into the new one.
There is a little fore-aft movement, have to figure how to get rid of it, got to shoot soon.

It's normal. All of those Mec Gar baseplates have the slight fore-aft movement. My Sig mags have them too. I like the look of the extension on your gun. I can't wait to put one on mine :).

Thanks for the info.
Also got my wood grips from CZ USA, but they only sent one screw. And the magazine hammer spring plug and the lanyard hole, their web site clearly shows one without the hole so their bad.

RE the fore-aft movement . . . an instructor, long, long ago trained me to slap the back of the mag into my wrist to push all the rounds to the rear - have always done it, ever since . . . don't know if it does any good . . . but it is like taking off my hat when I enter a building. Someone taught me to do it so I do! I would like a bit more extension on my CZ 82 mag, not neccesarily for more rounds, but to have my whole hand on the grip, rather than half my pinkie on and half off.

The Mec Gar can be as low as $11.98 each.

I have decided the perfect fix for the for-aft movement is a rubber erasure cut to size. I need to take the mag apart after each shoot to make sure it is clean. Silicone glue would stop that, I can remove a rubber erasure easily.
