I checked the search option to no avail. I know this has been discussed. I installed the 75 Hogue grips on my 97. Now the mag seems to hang up a little more. Do I have to remove some of the material on the inside panels? Also can I remove the flat type spring inside? That must be there to stop the mags from dropping smoothly. Thanks

Remove some materials from the inside of the grips.
You can bend the mag brake (the flat piece you referenced) so that it is bent away from the mag. With factory grips, the mags should drop free; if they didn't before modifying the mag brake, they should afterwards.
Generally, its best not to remove the mag brake, as it keeps mags from catching on the mainspring. Not a big deal if you do, but better if you don't.

I have a orbital sander. I guess it is trial and error how much to remove. I wouldn't think I would have to remove much as the mag does come out by pulling it. Thanks Walt
