What is the story with these versions of the VZ58?

It's what original markings would have appeared on a real Sa. Vz. 58. SHE is a factory code, I can't remember for which factory.
Here's a pic of the marking on an real 58:

I wonder how rare they are? Couldn't be more than 20 - 30 thousand of em running around, right? :P
I know I have only seen one on Gun Broker in the 6 months I have shopped em online.

Rare? Given the markings were applied by the receiver manufacturer or the kit builder I don't see where rare comes into it. I suppose it could be a reweld of a kit barrel stub to a US receiver if that kinda thing is legal.
You could do it to your own Century gun, paint it to match, and you'd have as "rare" a model as that one.

The "she" is a military designation. Vz and cz rifles have that marking. Not rare at all. I forget what it stands for though.

that is a kit build on an ORF(Ohio Rapid Fire) receiver.

Yep, here is another auction for an ORF reciever with those same markings:

Just thought I'd pass that on.

'SHE' is secret code. It stands for 'Final assembly in CZUB.'
All rifles manufactured for Czech army in UB have this code.
