Title: Novak-style nightsights on CZ75...
Post by: pentosinjunkie on October 09, 2011, 04:45:20 AM
Hello all,

Recently acquired a CZ-75B Satin Nickel.  So far, I love it; there are only two things I'd consider changing.

- Needs better sights.  The factory sights are OK for target shooting, but I can pick up the Trijicons on my Glock 19 far faster for accurate, rapid shooting, and overall faster follow-up times.  Granted, I have fewer than 300 rounds through my CZ thus far and probably something like 5,000 rounds through the Glock.

- VZGrips G10 grips, but that's something for another time.  Aside from the sheen, I don't mind the factory plastic grips that much.  Not a huge fan of rubber grips on "combat" handguns, so the factory grips and Hogues are out.

I'll probably wait on dropping coin on the sights for another 250 rounds or so, but in the meantime, I've been looking at THIS front sight

and THIS rear sight.

I'm just looking for input (and hopefully, photos) from those who have a CZ with these sights.  It looks like the sight picture might be a tad cramped, but overall, not that bad.  They seem to be commonly used on CZCustom Pro-Tek builds, and are far more aesthetically appealing than the standard Meps or Trijicons.

Thanks in advance for input.

I tried to take you some pictures of the sights on my Pro Tek but I don't have much to work with in the way of a decent camera.  Let me know if there's a perspective you'd like me to try and capture or something to focus on.  No guarantees on what I can actually do with this phone camera though, haha.  Overall, I really like the sight picture on this gun.  The photos don't really  provide a complete representation of what the sight picture really looks like but hopefully they give you some idea.  Also, looking back over them, quite a few of them are upside down or 90 degrees off.  Sorry about that   :P  Sadly, I'm a worse photographer than I am a shooter and I'm not very good at the latter, haha.

Had the rear stock night sight on my tactical switched out to a Novak adjustable - front sight was fine as is. CZ Custom had to machine the slide to accept the Novak - excellent sights. :)

Bozwell- thanks very much, the photos are great; they show me everything I need to see.  Assuming the Trijicons offered on CZCustom have the same (large) rear lamps, I'm going to go for it.  I'll give them a call/e-mail before pulling the trigger.

Thanks again!

Maybe you already found out but the ones on the Proteck are not the same ones that you refered to in the link.  The ones on the Protek require the slided to be milled while the ones in the picture just tap in.  The one on the Pro Tek are most likely from KenSight.  Basciaslly the ones that you slected will sit on the slide like the ones in this link, http://czcustom.com/CZ-Competition-Rear-Sight-1-1.aspx.

If you like Novak sights go to there website milling and turn around time is reasonable. Novaks are located in West Virginia There prices are very reasonable. I recently had 2 pistols milled and sights installed both came back in less than  2 weeks, granted I am in PA right next door so that helped speed up shipping. Also take a look at Xs big dot sights about $120.00 with a standard or big dot front post., no milliing required. There are pics of Xs big dots on my CZ-82 in the 82/83 forum. I have novaks On a lot of my pistols I like them way better than the factory sights.
