So it has been a long time since I have been able to get on the forum and even longer since I have actually been around my guns. However duty finally cut me a break so I got reacquainted with my other babies and was surfing around the forum and other sites when I decided to check out CZ-USA. Much to my surprise they are discontinuing the RAMI-P as of this year. Did this just happen or has it been done for months. An advanced search provided me no details. Why would they do this. Granted I abso-freaking-lutely Love my alloy RAMI with safety in 9mm, But why discontinue the polymer model. Many out there love and trust RAMI-P and it has no issues that the P07 doesn't. Yet the P07 looks like it is still being marketed well. So any input on what gives??? I can not understand why they would do this unless it was just not selling or they just got fed up with taking losses when RAMI-P were sent in for warranty and replace with new alloy guns. This makes me question what CZ is thinking about the polymer in general. Don't see much any complaints about the Phantoms out there and rightfully so. So back to the question. What gives???
-
The RAMI-P is still listed on czub.cz site but not cz-usa. Looks like they are still being made but will no longer be imported. Just my guess.
-
Not a bad guess but I am really curious if this has any bearing on the future of polymer frames in America for CZ?? I know I wouldn't buy one but I am brainwashed with metal guns. The only plastic gun that interest me is the Walther PPQ. Other than that I don't care for the idea. But the rest of America really likes plastic frames and CZ probably should make a better effort to cater to that market.
-
Never really saw the point in the Rami P, the weights were so close, plus I personally think the alu frame looks much better. But I'm probably just being biased since that's what I own. ;D
I think CZ makes some of the sexiest pistols but not really a fan of their polymer guns. The P07 looks hideous to me with the giant trigger guard and over sized child's toy looking controls. Top that off with some getting the frame bulge and I think I'll look elsewhere for now if I really want another plastic gun.

I agree completely!

they got sick of replacing polymer framed ramis with brand new alloy frame ones, like they did with me and a handfull of others here ont he forum
i had the bulge, it got worse, till one day the gun almost fell apart, i actually ran out of ammo, the next round would have cycled the slide clean off the frame, with the locking block with it.
one other guy, didnt get so lucky to notice the locking block/frame separation due to the pins walking away fromt he bulge and disengaging hold. he shot the slide off of it.
they gave me a new gun.

Well this is disconcerting... I have a RAMI P and an SP 01 Phantom...
-
the phantom is fine, the rami=p sucks.
as said there is only a 3oz difference in weight. and with the alloy you can use modified fairly cheap 1911 grips.
maybe with the rami, like the po7/o9 they will add some extra or some at least, fiberglass in the frame.
honestly the poly rami frame feels like softer than airsoft gun plastic.
i had a poly, now it got turned into a brand new alloy model, cz will take care of you if need be. shoot her till the wheels fall off. and if they do, send it in to get replaced. hell purposely shoot it till it messes up, make it.1000's of round whatever it takes, if it will fail. cuzz some dont, some do. just like some glocks blow up to pieces and some blow up just a little bit.lol

funny thing, i have been compiling a ton of pics of Kabooms. one gun i can not find kaboomed at all is any CZ. well i did find one cz52 tok. but that is apples to oranges
i found sigs, HK's, hell even a HK mark23, beretta, beretta storms, XD, XD(m), taurus, walther pps, tons of big money revovlers, big money 1911's, i have found no ruger autos, no cz autos, no steyr's, no bersas, no ppq's (walther) and i looked hard to find a CZ, as mentioned, i have found not a hint of a KB in a CZ.
look at this

Does anyone have a pic of a bulging rami? I looked at mine, which I've only put about 30 rounds through (its winter) and it seems to be bulging near the slide on the non safety lever side. I really don't want to send it in but if I have to I'd rather do it before summer.

I never understood the point.

All,
Am thinking about a 9mm CZ sub compact which is about the same size as my CZ 83. I like to shoot that "size" of a pistol but don't always want to shoot .380. I have doubts about the RAMI and P07 polymers from what I've read. I would like a RAMI alloy but they don't make them anymore. Any suggestions for a 9mm approx the same size/weight as an CZ 83?

the RaMi alloy and alloy BD (decocker) are still being produced as far as i know, the POLYMER RaMi is discontiunued in the usa

Just bought a Rami-P and have noticed the bulge already after 150 rounds. I haven't called customer service yet. Has anyone experienced real problems with it or is it just cosmetic?? I'm really pleased with the size and capacity.
-
at first it is cosmetic, then it gets mechanical after the front pin holding the locking block into the polymer dissengages because if the frame bulging out past any engagement of the pin to the frame.

here is everything in a nutshell with pics.

I saw a couple of RAMI alloys online for about $500. For that much, I would rather buy a SP-01 Phanton. I fired one that belonged to a friend and fell in love with the incredible accuracy and great fit for my hands. It seems like there is a big demand and higher prices for sub-compacts these days and that full size guns like the CZ 75 are good deals in comparison.

all cz guns are balls to the wall accurate.
even the rami p i had was terrible accurate, even as it shot itself apart.
al least cz pulled it, unlike other companies that will release new generations with little or no improvement.
also cz has not once failed to replace an rami p with an alloy version for free, free shipping both ways and free replacement. all i had to do was give my preffered FFL his 10 bux for a transfer.
if the rami you want, and dont want the P or the alloy, try a pcr compact. or po6
