As the title asks; In pouch, are your mags (rounds) facing forward or backwards? Also what do people prefer, all single pouches or a couple doubles, or a mix?
I tend to like the mag facing backwards. Seems to yield a smoother insertion then my left hand slides smoothly into position afterwards.
-
always rounds forward. when i carry, i have a single on my weak side. for competition, CR speed singles on a cr speed belt.
-
definitely nose forward and single mag pouches here too, but i use DAA all round.
-
I run 5 single DAA Race Master pouches. The first 3 with the rounds forward, and the back 2 with the rounds facing out.

Any problems deploying the mags when having to switch from front facing to rear?
-
I think he uses them with the rounds facing away fromt the waistline, not to the rear. The DAAA pouches allow that mounting option.

I use single mag pouches..allows me to get the same hand position on all my mags.
rounds facing forward.
I use the CR Speed Versapouches.

This may help me figure this out. According to the IDPA rules under magazine carrier criteria....
G. Be worn in a belt location that will position the front edge of the carrier behind the centerline of the body.
The description of centerline is a little ambiguous with the word "behind" in there. Is the centerline in the anterior view or lateral?
-
Lateral.
and you won't be able to use the CR Speed or DAA pouches.. look at the BladeTech single or the Comptac singles

Thanks Stuart.

Individual CR Speed pouches, bullet nose forward. Individual pouches can be tilted to the best/most natural weak hand position around your waist-line
-
Here's a picture of the way I was talking about. Just something that I thought I'd try out to be able to space out my front 3 a bit, and still reach the rear pouches a little easier.
