Title: Kadet on 75 Compact
Post by: OffshoreMan72 on March 12, 2012, 09:31:07 AM
Here is a video of my daughter shooting her 75 Compact with Kadet top end.  Fit-up was perfect.  She will be shooting my Czeckmate this weekend.

Sorry about that."

Is she wearing a Metallica T-shirt or something ?!?!?

Very nice
She show she has the basis for great fundamentals
Finger off the trigger until ready to fire
Can?t really see it all that well, but it looks like she takes a nice firm grip
Good on ya

That was the first time she has shot. We dry fired the night before for about an hour. I am proud for sure.

OffshoreMan,

Could you post some photos of this gun?  I believe I read that the Kadet magazine protrude from the base of the Compact grip.  I'd like to see how it looks.

Thanks.

The mags will stick out of the bottom of the compact frame when using the Kadet kit.

The base pads of the Kadet mags can be replaced with these from CZ-USA.

Here is a picture of the two mags, one with the original base and the other with the 10 round base.

75+,

Thanks for the photos.  The shortened mags look good in the Compact.  How much effort did it take to fit the Kadet slide to your Compact frame?

Skookum, the Kadet kit I bought for my Compact was used and had been fitted to another, full sized, CZ75. It was an excellent fit for the Compact. It had been filed to some extent by the previous owner but it does not appear to have been a lot.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

75+,

Thanks for the info.

How does the pistol balance with that long barrel and lightweight ammo load?

I really haven't paid a lot of attention to the differences in balance.

Here is some food for thought.

A full Kadet magazine, 10 rounds with 40 gr bullets, contains 1.2 oz. (34 Grams) of ammo weight. You have a change of 1.2 oz. from start to finish.

A full 9mm magazine, 14 rounds of 115 gr. bullets, contains 5.85 oz. (166Grams)  of ammo weight. The change is 5.85 oz. from start to finish.

Considering the balance change between .22 and 9mm I wouldn't think the additional length would be significant. The added weight, up front, should assist in getting back on target quicker.

What ammo are you guys using on your Kadet? I have FTE issues, it will chamber a round without the spent shell ejecting totally out of the chamber (stove pipe the spent shell with a new round in the chamber) the Kadet 2 was mounted on my Compact 40.

Take a look at this thread. It might help your FTE issues. http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=7863

Hey Joe,

I appreciate the info but the link you posted was to the full size 10 round base pad which is what the Kadet comes with.  The link to the Compact 10 round base pad is here:

Great to see young ones getting into shooting.  I wish I started at a younger age.
