I have found a gunsmith in the Louisville, Ky. area that solved my problem concerning threading the barrel of my scorpion. First of all we couldn't remove the old barrel without potentially damaging the upper rec. He manufactured a sleeve that fits like a glove over the existing barrel and threaded it for 1/2x28. He duracoated it and installed two setting screws and loctite to hold in place. Looks better than factory barrel, and folding stock fits over it too.  I have pics if anyone is interested. Included a thread protector... all for $250.

In addition to the above info...... the sleeve can be threaded onto the existing barrel if you can remove the barrel. In my case we couldn't get the old barrel to come off. It gives the scorpion a much better look... a bit beefier, and fits like factory install.

The sleeve he had installed looks great when I decide to SBR my Skorpion I plan to sleeve it just as he had done.

My FFL charges $60 to do 1/2x28 and put on an HK 3 lug adapter for me as well.
