I thought that the Compact and PCR were two different pistols. I saw a Compact at the gunshop today that didn't look like the 75D Compact in the 2002 catalog. Can anyone shed any light?

The PCR says that on the slide. It is still basically a compact just a slightly tweaked D" model. If its a D" and its a Compact, its either a PCR, Hybrid or PO1...Ill take one of each please

If that Compact is anything like my 75D Compact then it isn't a PCR, PO-1 or hybrid. My Compact doesn't have the serration on the front of the slide, Novak sites, and or alloy frame. My frame's all-steel and it's a ton of fun to shoot. From what I understand, the decocker variant of the Compact is fairly rare. I'd jump on it if the price where right.

Wow....You learn something new everyday.....There is NO info on this gun on any of CZ's websites...good to know.

memebr sent me a privat email. no response email..
concerning the question of wheter the Comapct and
PCR frames were different.
I know that Eric can answer him better.

Yes there is a CZ75D that isn't a PCR - I sold one at Jensen's a year ago, and kicked myself as I have never seen one again. Simply a CZ75 Compact with decocker. My kind of gun, with a steel frame. It's listed at CZUB, but not with CZ-USA, as alloy is the rage here in the states - everyone can carry a couple extra pounds IN the waistline, but not a few extra ounces ON the waistline.
Someday, maybe I'll find one used cheap.
Then again, someday maybe I'll win the lottery....

The CZ 75 Compact is listed on the CZ-USA site under
products. Their part no. on their price list is
#01190-01193, depending on finish.

As far as the differences in the frames go. The steel frame is narrower thru the rails than the Alloy guns. They have a different shape at the end of the frame under the muzzle.
The Alloy guns have serrations on the front and back strap and a couple of other minor differences....thats about it.
