I just bought a new CZ75 Compact and on the right hand side of the slide above the ejector there is an indent with the CZ stamp and an 01 and I am curious if that was the mfg.date.

If the 01 is just behind the extractor (the ejector is what the case hits while being pulled back by the extractor) and its in a little circle...yep.  Its made in 2001
