Title: Define 'Gun Violence' - Now's your chance
Post by: Dave Workman on June 14, 2012, 01:35:51 PM
How do you define ?gun violence??

A crazed home-invader shot dead in North Bend after repeated warnings from the homeowner that he was armed; an ex-boyfriend killed by a Michigan woman as he was trying to strangle her; an image of Australian athletes in a United States gun shop holding shotguns and handguns for a photo; are these all examples of so-called ?gun violence??

Guns are inanimate objects. Not the violent things rabid antis like Chucky Schumer would have you believe. ("...these violent assault weapons..."-- Sen. C. Schumer)

As to the Kleck data... There is a recent report by Clayton Cramer & David Burnett published by the Cato Institute[0] that backs up Kleck. The authors also conclude that more than 2 million crimes are thwarted each year by armed citizens.

Of course those who seek to deprive us of our rights will blissfully ignore hard data like that presented by Kleck, Cato and even the government's own crime statistics as it is contrary to their agenda.
