picked her up not too long ago. still need to get rings. money is tight right now, what is a good scope set up for it. I dont want to remove the rear sights. any advice?

Mine wore a Redfield 2-7x33.   Great scope.

There's the kicker - any large bell scope will have difficulty with that. I had to go extreme when I scoped mine. I had a large scope, Bushnel Sportsman 4-12, (very nice person gave it to me), and the bell would have never cleared the rear sight. What i did do was ask a gunsmith friend of mine to make me an adjustable rear sight, since nobody else does.

With scope mounted. Yes, it is clear...by about 2 millimeters.

The Redfield shouldn't have that issue, being both shorter and smaller belled.

My Redfield cleared.  Never touched because it sat behind the sight.
