I believe my next purchase is going to be a PCR. The ability to decock plus the lighter frame and nice sites are a plus. Does anyone have any reasons to pick the compact over the PCR? Any input is appreciated.

Actually, weight never bothered me, as I carried a full size Witness for eleven years with no worries. I like a little more weight to hold down recoil, but with 9mm, there isn't that much anyway. I wanted a CZ75D Compact, but apparently the one I sold at the shop was the last one I'll see for a while - CZ-USA is out, and they aren't listed anymore. Not to mention, they still aren't bringing in the Melt I want!
I do want a PCR for my wife, as the weight issue is one that gets her and her bad back, one reason the Witness compact stays home far more than he should.

About the only reasons to consider the Compact over the PCR would be you want/need the ability to carry cocked and locked. And/or you dont believe the alloy
frame can take the abuse of the gun for as long as a
steel framed gun.
Personally, I own a compact..and love it. But given the choice I would love a PCR.....just my 2.375 cents
