What's next, wonder what is causing these muti-victim shootings at public places. All the more reason to ccw.

Does anyone know if Kentucky CCW laws allow concealed carry in churches? Texas CCW laws do not.

Not for certain, but I know a lot of states will allow it in Churches if the presiding pastor agrees to it...

I had an interesting chat with my CCW instructor about churches in this area.  Apparently, a lot of local churches send their deacons and other officials to his classes for training, and they purposefully organize it so that they're all carrying on Sunday.  The reason being - some of the big churches have a LOT of cash on hand during Sunday service and they are a big target for robberies.  Makes perfect sense... but it's pretty sad in a way.

From what I've been told, it's not uncommon and it makes some sense.  Some of these churches are huge and people giving 10% or 20% of their income... that's a lot of cash floating around.  I was glad to hear some of the churches in my area are taking active steps to defend themselves - better to have a firearm and training to use it, than not to have it during a crisis.  That said, multiple CCW holders engaging armed robbers in a crowded church... I just hope it never comes to that.  I suspect it won't be pretty.

Yeah, that could be mass pandemonium.

skipper, BOOO!  ;D
I never knew any of my local churches that had unofficial security, but I'm sure it happens. You might find it interesting that the proscription against arms in a church was in response to robberies of churches in the Dark Ages...hearing that the Good Lord was poised to send you to a very bad place for bearing arms inside the walls made some hesitate.
Nowadays, I think it to be simple caution. I hadn't heard of churches being robbed of collection plates, but it makes evil sense.

Mr. A, I have heard of churches being broken into, but not armer robbery on Sunday Morning. I was surprised, never occured to me someone might do that. Surely those robbers will be sent to that very bad hot place.

Maybe they ought to start making people that rob churches listen to The Word at gun point that might do them good
