Does anyone know if a civilian scorpion is in the works--a semiautomatic?
-
Do you mean the EVO Scorpion, or the original vz-61 Skorpion? A semi-auto version of the original is found at CzechpointUSA, here, http://www.czechpoint-usa.com/products/pistols/sa-vz-61-scorpion-in-32-acp/ though they seem to be out of stock at the moment.
As for the new EVO model, well, hmm. The new catalog includes a description of a trip to the factory in Prague, and the author noted that he did personally see a semi-auto EVO 3 A1...but with the current political climate, I don't know if they will try to import it to the US yet or not. Don't forget, under 922(r), it would have to come in fitted for a proprietary 10 round single column magazine to be legal for import, and then be fitted with the required number of US made parts to be usable with a full size magazine, the same as CzechpointUSA does with the vz-58 rifles right now. CZ-USA may not have access to that same setup at the moment, and might not want to make the investment. I'd hope they do it for the 805 - I'd LOVE one of those!

I was thinking of the EVO in 9mm.

Hm, I doubt it. But I sure would like it!
