Title: CZ-550 extractor-ejector

I have a new CZ-550 FS, .243.  When extracting a spent round, sometimes it ejects with a lot of force, throwing the brass several feet.  Other times, it barely gets the spent brass out of the gun.
All rounds seem to chamber with no problem.
Any thoughts?  Thanks

I think as long as the spent brass leaves the rifle making way for the next round... it's all good.

     The extractor (side claw) pulls the brass from the receiver. The ejector (fixed) is what determines the angle of ejection. With a controlled-round-feed bolt action, the speed in which you move the bolt to the rear determines the speed and distance the brass is ejected. This is different from a push-feed action, where the ejection is directly related to the spring tension of the plunger ejector (located on the bolt face). I don?t think you should be concerned as long as the spent brass clears the receiver consistently, but test the rifle by varying your speed of bolt throw. There is a possibility that your ejector has a problem, but this isn?t likely the case.
