I have been wondering, is it normal for the slide to be very difficult to pull back and put the first round in the chamber? I understand that is has to cock the hammer but mine seems very hard to pull back. It is way harder than all of my other pistols.

It does have a pretty strong recoil spring. The trigger's main spring doesn't strike me as being particularly heavy.
Hey, let's have an experiment. See how hard it is to pull your slide back with the hammer up. Then do it again with the hammer cocked. Of course the slide will be easier with the hammer cocked, but you'll get a feel for the difference. Then, take the recoil spring off the barrel and put the slide back on, and pull the slide back with the hammer up and with the hammer cocked. Naturally, with the hammer cocked and no recoil spring you'll feel only the resistence of oiled parts moving with one another, and it should be pretty effortless. If it isn't, you should sort out any friction or mechanical problems as you find them.
My hunch is that the springs are just stiffer than you expect.

Thanks for the ideas. I did your experiments. The pull was easy(as other pistols) with the hammer cocked. Without the spring no binding at all. It was almost as heavy without the spring without the hammer cocked. Cocking the hammer with my finger is heavy. I guess the spring on the hammer is the tough one. Now I know the answer. N O R M A L.

hold the slide still and push the frame forward, its much easier

The main problem with the CZ-52 slide draw is the shape of the slide and grips, which can make it a pain in the butt. Because of the extra use of multipul muscles, it seams much heavier then it really is.
The CZ-52 slide draw is similar to that of the 1911A1. Hammer draw is also about the same.
