Guys,
In something of a miracle, I found and bought, a NIB CZ-452 Military Trainer at the local gun store. It was the last one as well as the display model. $358. I am thrilled and finally can add this to the stable. A good day all round.

Great Rifle. Congrats.

GS, Congrats on your recent Trainer purchase. I also have a recently purchased 452 Trainer 17hmr. Post some pics. Are you going to shoot iron sights or scope?

Here are some photos of my new CZ-452 Military Trainer.

I would like to get her to the range today, we'll see if that works out. I absolutely love the rifle and honestly thought I had waited too long to find one. I have been looking for some time. I am going to shoot iron sights for now. I may put a scope on one day.

I have a question for you guys. After further thought, I am considering mounting a fixed four power scope. It is a Leupold FX-II 4x33, for which I would use the CZ 1" rings/mounts. If I did this, do you think they would clear the rear iron sights?
GS
-
If the scope is 11 1/2" or less, it will fit behind the rear sight.
But even if longer, that scope should clear fine with those rings.
-
Thanks Viking. I am assuming the CZ rings and mount are a good option? Yes?
GS
-
Yes.
Burris, Warne and a few other also make good rings to for the CZ's.
Here is a good reference......

Thanks again Viking. That forum is an awesome resource. ;D

I have the CZ rings holding a Weaver V-16 on my CZ 452 Varmint. Very nice rings in my opinion.

Whaler, looks like the fit is perfect.

..the CZ rings are a great choice....they are perfect on my Varmint w/Big Sky 6x24x42.....

...that trainer..is next on my list.... ;)
...that little hole just gets a little bigger with these CZ rifles...

She is a beauty! I'm dead set on waiting for the 452 Ultra Lux but sure wish it came in that good ole CZ walnut!
Great price, better gun!
-
CONGRATS! I've changed my tune, buddy! I bought a CZ Trainer for almost exactly what you paid (within 6$US) and pick it up May 2. Same everything as the UL but the wood and the barrel length. Thought I'd be a fool to deny myself the 452 b/c of, basically, aesthetics. It will be my only .22 rifle as I lent my Ruger 10/22 to my brother in New Orleans as he had a raccoon, and decided he could keep it because I long ago decided to be a CZ man. 3 CZ's, a definite 4th in the works and then we'll see what else I can talk myself into! Wish they'd get in the revolver biz... Big fan of wheel guns...

I am excited. I just placed an order for a Military Trainer a few minutes ago. It may even ship today. (This will be my first truly accurate .22 LR, so I'm pumped!)
If anyone is still looking for a Military Trainer there are 5 remaining in stock at Kesselrings. I didn't ask today, but last week they also had Scouts in stock. Don't use the web contact form or email; just call 360-724-3113 and ask for a sales associate. The price is $349.95. (They also maintain a well organized waiting/backorder list, in case you want an Ultra Lux.)

Andrew

Back on topic I picked up a lux used this year and plan on re-finishing it. Just had a Egyptian Manseur (sp) in my hands today and that was a pretty cool gun also. My customer was led to believe it is a export Brno #2, it looks very CZ-ish. I don't think you can go wrong with a Czech designed .22.

Welcome SN! Will look forward to seeing you on the Monthly Match for iron sights. I think there are several trainers shooting.

Thanks Andrew ! I'm new to the sight here but after getting fed up with my 10/22 I decided on a military trainer but boy it is a little tough to come by until I found this thread ! After calling and talking to Melissa at Kesselrings though and $369 later it is on its way to my ffl, ready to put some 22lr down range again now ;)

Another Convert! ;D
Welcome Aboard. Look forward to seeing pics when it arrives.

You are very welcome Todd. I was hoping that the information would help someone looking for a CZ rimfire. I just picked mine up on the way home from work yesterday evening.
I'm anxious to get it out and shoot it. I might be able to get to an indoor range this week, but it may be awhile before I can get it out to a full range where I can shoot from positions other than standing. I'm headed to an Appleseed on the 18th, so maybe there will be an opportunity to shoot it there. Now I need to decide on sights and optics; but that is another thread...

Mine is showing tuesday delivery to my ffl, im anxious to get some pics up and break it in next weekend and then think about installing some glass :)
-
Trainers are for Irons!
Even older eyes con hit 8" targets at 100 yards with irons - take my word for that! ;)
-
Even better, the sights are what drew me too it, i wont be disappointed if i dint need any glass at all ;)
-
I'm looking at both irons and optics. It's in a separate post, but (at this particular moment) I'm thinking it will be the P&J peep replacement for the rear blade and then some quick release setup for the few times I want to use a scope.
