Ok, I just purchased a kadet 2 kit used and it is not in as good shape as I hoped. I was told it was fitted to a cz 75b. I own a cz85 combat and the kit fits on ok but the slide is very tight. If I pull it back it just stays back, (lots of resistance).
It looks like one of the previous owners did quite a bit of filing on the block under the barrel, and on the front of the slide. However my problem right now is the resistance in the slide. I'm not sure what to do here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if I didn't explain this well but if you any questions please ask, I don't want to do anything until someone can offer some guidance.
Thanks for any input

One more thing, the kadet kit slide stop does not seem to fit in my 85. It goes in almost all the way but just wont go that last bit.

Hiya pauli62 and thanks for starting the thread, great advice from Denn, had czc fit my 3 frames as they are down the street, the shadow was a very tight fit gettin it off at first, po-2,shadow,and 75b-sa being the favorite frame ta use. As a side note, my kadet kit did not lock open with last round, and this was with new mags. I called cz's free toll free line and they offered to send me a PCR slide stop if I return the Kadet side stop as a trade, slide locks back now, unless I've not kept up on mag cleaning. Enjoy, it is alot of fun to shoot with, a lil sweeter if we had 20rd capasity. Be well.

bump that 20rndr idea! cz please read!

The kit fits fine into the frame, its the slide that had a lot of resistance. If I pull back just the slide, (the middle section of the kit) it stays back. I have to manually push it forward with quite a bit of resistance to return it back. I'm not sure what to do?
And yes the original cz85 combat slide stop works, just not sure it will hold the slide back one it starts to works properly. thanks for that advice.

The slide on the upper should move freely with only spring tension acting on it. The filing on the other sections sounds like Trouble. I would contact the seller ASAP to have this resolved. If that is not an option post some pictures so we can see what has been bubba'd.
The slide stop hold open feature is a secondary problem and easily corrected once you have the kit operating.

It sounds like your bolt is in a bind somewhere.
Here is something you can try:
Take some pics of the bolt and slide, then re-install the kit on your frame and rack the bolt over and over.
Then compare the bolt and slide to your pics to see where or what is rubbing.

The problem you describe is the same as occurs when trying to use the Kadet slide stop on a P-01. That is caused by the thickness of the P-01 frame. I don't think the 85 Combat would have this problem.
Just to eliminate the slide stop in the equation try installing the kit and holding the slide and frame together by hand and try to cycle the bolt.

Ok, This is the slide. It looks terrible. I took the top section with the barrel off, and just installed the slide section. That is the section that has a lot of resistance. It will not slide at all, only if I push it back and forth. It does not return by the spring tension at all. Now I do not know what I should do, slightly file the slide rails or ask the seller to return it due to the condition of the top section. Any suggestions would really help.
Thanks

I agree with Joe as it sounds like the Bolt is dragging on the inside of Slide Stop
Are you using the Kadet SS or the CZ85 SS ?
You can try removing a bit of material from the Kadet SS as seen in this pic posted by Joe a little while back:

Pauli, If I read your last post correctly the condition you describe is normal. When you place just the bottom section in the rails it will slide on freely until the K in Kadet is about even with the front of the frame. It then starts riding the trigger bar, which is spring loaded in the vertical direction, and you will feel resistance for about 3/4" of travel. That is when the trigger bar is in the cut-outs of the slide. Push a bit further and it will tighten again. Your problem is likely somewhere else.
The only slide stop that you can use is the one that came in your pistol due to the 85 Combat having an ambidextrous slide stop release. The Kadet and PCR SS will not fit through the RH release lever.
