Title: 2nd IDPA Saturday
Post by: Riptide439 on June 20, 2013, 08:44:15 PM
CAN'T WAIT !

Only had 11 PD on the first go round. I think it was beginers luck!  :o
Will be tough to do that again but I hope my 75B shows me the way  ;)

Sah-WEET!!!!  I just finished a 500 round session to prepare for Saturday.  A classifier AND a 4 or 5 stage match....AND second gun after!!!!

Can you guys feel that change in the air pressure?   It's just the force from my fist pumps breaking the sound barrier!!!!

So I'm feeling ya, Mr. Ripper...

(Insert Joe Swanson's most enthusiastic "YEAH!" here)O0

Cool on the classifier!
I can't mesh my schedule around a classifier. Let me know how you make out and what class you qualify in.
Good Luck murph!

Hope you have a great time!

I hope you're the exception to the rule I've experienced first hand and been told by others: at your second match your score drops almost precipitously because it was "so easy" the first time you tend to drop your mental focus the second time.

So stay focused Riptide and shoot safe!

First off thanks to Lower Providence R&G Club for a great day. I had lots of fun and learned alot from SO Bob.

I was exactly right (at least that is was I think) that the 1st match was beginers luck. I was much more nervous the second time around at the start.

It didn't help that I started leadoff for the day on a 20 yard El Presedente!   :o

Just need ro find a classifier now.

BINGO!  After safety, you've learned the most important lesson.  The rest is just gravy for the "meat and potatoes". ;D 8)

Nice, Mr. Rip...glad you had a good time.  Lead man on El Pres @ 20 yds...sheesh...breaking you in, aren't they???  No DQ's, super sweet!  My favorite part is getting to hang out with the older guys who have "been there, done that twice".  Shooting with Masters is the best way to get better.  You can learn a lot just by watching.  One of the best tips I got from a Master at our club is "Move slow, shoot fast."  I was having trouble focusing while shooting on the move and he saw and offered advice without hesitation.  Really can't beat these games when it comes to sportsman's-like conduct.  Great stuff.

Ohh...on that n310 you have...I have read a few posts on the benos forum stating n310 under 147gr is one of the softest shooting minor PF loads.  ;)  More risk with such a faster powder, but with caution, might be worth the experiment

I knew I was in for a rough day when I was called first for that!  :o
But I have to say I learned more by being placed leadoff then you can imagine.  ;)

Met a great guy shooting a P01 today he got from CZ Custom. Nice to discuss short oal  :)

This is the second time this week I heard 310 under a147gr. Still not convinced. May need to defer to Wobbly on this one.

My buddy took a video of me! Just got it this morning.
I was given a muzzle warning in this one after my 2nd target - now I know why. Great to see the mistakes!
I look like Twinkle Toes Flintstone tiptoeing around!  ::)

Very cool! Your RO had a PSA Shootout shirt on! I need to try the IDPA thing out, but I'm being a bit tight with my ammo, steel challenge eats enough of my stock
