OK, well, MAYBE bunny busting WASN'T quite the best thing to do with this carbine...

But we were hunting jackrabbit. In AZ, jacks get reasonably big, 20+ pounds. That's good stew meat. Also, I wish my buddy had told me my hat was on crooked...
I shot one bunny...a cottontail...no pictures because the home cast 123gr NOE spire point basically blew him in half. The consensus from the rest of the hunting party was - too much gun, so you guard the rear from marauding squirrels and such. Oh well, OK. BTW, for a diverse load out, the mag in the rifle was loaded with the cast NOE - the mag in the stock had 123gr Hornady SP for anything "slightly larger" that might have decided to argue with our presence.
The guy who did get the jack used his CZ 712 12 gauge to do it with, 8) ,and here is jack in the pot.

Not a small pot.

All in all, not too bad for being swarmed with bees, (we couldn't get near the truck for a while as bees were crusted over the water jugs), and temperatures that climbed over 100 before 7AM. More record heat. Yay. :'( Time for a cold beverage...and I mean water... ;)

96 Ranch Road south of the tiny town of Florence on Highway 79. State Trust land, a LOT of it.
