Title: CZ712/CZ912
Post by: Yoda27 on July 31, 2013, 03:13:51 PM
They look good on the internet, price is good, anyone have first hand experience about how they work. Freshout of the box, first 200 rounds, next 1,000 rounds, 5,000, & 10,000 rounds

Generally they're pretty good guns for the money.  You aren't buying a gun that you should expect to put 10,000 rounds through year after year, but you aren't paying for such a gun either.  They've had some issues with the O rings, but that's a fairly easy fix and it's worth keeping a few spare rings.  The 712 has been more proven than the 912, thus far.  Otherwise, you might want to formulate some more specific questions, as there's no real way to give a general answer about these guns.

Ok, How offen will the"O" rings need to be replaced.  How light of load will the 712 or 912 accept,  7/8, or 1 oz.?  Assuming that it will be cleaned  after each trip to the range (100 rounds skeet, 100 rounds of trap, or 125 rounds of sporting clays) at least once a week will it keep on "Ticking"?  I have an old 870 with at least 85,000 Plus,  Benelli M-1 super 90 with about 60,000 rounds, & a Beretta 390 (I got used) with unknow number of rounds.

I was thinking about picking up a pair of CZ's, and giving one to my Son & one to my Son-in-law.  One Marine, one Ranger, both believe you should clean, maintain, and shoot the wheels off.

... I was thinking about picking up a pair of CZ's, ...

I've only put a handful of rounds through mine so I  can't give an honest answer on long-term durability but as far as fit, form and function goes for a four hundred buck (or whatever) gun, you can't go wrong. Mine hasn't missed a lick the few times I've used it. Just knocking clays at our local club, no competition or anything like that. Me and a friend is all. He likes the gun too. It's a lot of fun!
