Got mine the other day...
Nice. REEEEEAL NICE. I installed this on my AWO vz in about 20 minutes.
Finish - Not sure what the finish is, but it held up to repeated blows from a plastic hammer used to install the lower half.
Fit - as I said, the lower half had to be coaxed in to position with a plastic hammer. This is a good thing, in my opinion. The more rock solid, the better. The upper half was snug, but needed far less convincing to be fully seated. This is also a good thing, as the operator needs access to the gas piston via the upper half of the handguard.
I don't think that I could be more impressed with the fit & finish of this handguard set. The bad-ass factor is off the chart.
Can't wait to load this mean beast up with a light, red dot, vertical grip, etc.

My newly acquired (Centerfire Systems special) VZ-2008 is eager to get the new set of handguards. ;D
Hemmed and hawed at the Bonesteel set, but after reading up on the Mako composite set, realized the Bonesteel was the only viable choice.

I found one of the Troy Battle Rails for the same price as the bonesteel. I bought mine on gunbroker, but Botach shows them as in stock and Botach always has coupon codes too making the cost the same... I went w/ the Troy/NEA profile because I wanted to keep the lower grip slim like standard stock. The only drawback of the NEA is if you fully rail it, the lower and sides, you kill the air flow. But the 2 - 2 inch rails (included in the troy set) should more than do most folks for a laser/light on side and bipod or grip on the bottom... Bottom line I like that NEA preserves the factory lines better than does Bonesteel (I wanted to like them, but couldn't make myself do it).

Also, haven't set mine up yet, but think I'll do a micro red dot on top (might go w/ a scout scope but not sure if I need it or will be much more effective w/ it on this carbine w/ folding stock...), magpul AFG on lower and flashlight/laser on left. I have a grip pod on my Galil, but prefer an AFG for everything but bipod duty...

I agree . Even thou the Bonesteel handguard is very good , I prefer the Troy kit .
