Hi everyone,
I am sending my P-01 off to Robar for refinishing. It will probably take a couple of months to get back but I know it will be worth the wait.
I am getting the following services:
NP3+ to slide and internals (slide, barrel, trigger, hammer, decocker, slide stop, mag release)
Poly-T2 Gunmetal gray on the frame.
This will be the 3rd handgun that I have had refinished by Robar. I can't say enough about the quality work they do and I can't wait to get my P-01 back.
Oh, here are a couple of pictures of my SP-01 and Beretta that have been refinished by Robar.

I will of course be posting pictures as soon as I get her back.

LOVE how your SP-01 looks, definitely gonna have to look into getting mine done!

That's gonna be stinkin' awesome when you get it back. The picts of your existing ones are way cool too. I've been slobbering over Robar for years now but have yet to send anything to them. There was an online article (forget where) a few years back about a Robar'ed Kahr P45 that I fell in love with. Always wanted to do the same to my TP9.
Somebody a few months back sold a P-01 on GunBroker and it was Robar'ed, satin-ish finish, NP3 I think. Very Very Cool !
Picts when you get it back...please.

This is better than porn.

What is a ballpark cost?
-
All said and done for the refinishing I am getting + one additional magazine, is around $400. One magazine is included in the price.
I am also getting the NP3+ finish on the slide. that costs a little extra.
Their price list and order form are located here:

And just because I thought it was flipping cool:

Yep, that is my SP-01. ;D

Just got the work order from Robert, 16 January is the estimated completion date. So, that is about 7 weeks.
It's going to be a long wait.

WOW!!! looking forward to your pics!!

I love Robar. I had a 92 Centurion done in it. I know they have to strip anodizing off stuff like the frames of berettas. NP3 is sweet and slick.
-
Great looking Robar'd guns.
I have acquired a P-01 with a Robar NP3+ slide and all internal steel parts. The frame is the stock matte black alloy finish; back when it was done there was some question if they could do the scandium/aluminum frames. It's not a pro-tek, but it's pretty sweet - all the robar'd parts look perfect (no surprises there, it should outlast me). It was filthy, and when I took it home I cleaned it with (drum roll) my air compressor. If that's not an endorsement of Robar, I don't know what is.
A robar'd P01 is near perfection!
;D

Post pictures! Would love to see the slide on the black frame.

I am not much of a photographer - but here's one from my iphone. btw- there is a serial number, I just don't like showing them online so I blurred it. The whole "gun registry thingy" is why :D
The holster is an HBE IWB model for the P01 and it fits exquisitely. The gun looks much better in person, of course.

That looks great! Looking forward to mine getting back, I was think of those same grips.

The whole pro-tek thing got me thinking so I drove over to the cz custom shop... I ended up buying the pro-tek style grips and the tactical night sights. They installed both while I waited. Very cool shop, incredible customer service. I'd recommend these grips over the VZ personally - those other grips would dig right through my T-shirt, and I am sensitive to that YMMV.
This picture shows more of the Robar'd parts (at least the ones outside - all the internal steel parts were done too, including the barrel).

Just spoke with Robar, I should have it back in my hands at the end of next week (16 Jan). I'll post pictures and as soon as I get it to the range I'll post my impressions.

If I sent a pistol to Robar for the NP3+ finish, would you suggest me sending it there first or putting in replacement parts from CGW and then sending it in?
Would the Robar finish conflict with the CGW parts or not make a difference?

My personal preference would be to get the CGW stuff installed and then send it to Robar. That is what I've done with my pistols. Get everything setup exactly the way that I want then send them to get refinished.
The funny thing is, I had my SP-01 refinished a couple of years ago, and since the have installed the CGW hammer. Seeing the blued hammer against the silver NP3 is driving me nuts. Yep, OCD will get the best of my and I'll send it off to get plated too.
NP3 finish is such that it won't alter the physical dimensions of any of the parts, so you'll be good either way. Also, CZs aren't like $4000 1911s so the tolerances aren't a huge concern anyway.

MLK day is Monday. Most delivery services are closed.......
I got some stuff supposed to be here the first of the week......now I have to wait another day........

OK!
Got it back and pictures will be posted this evening.
A question.
I just noticed that my decocking lever takes my hammer all of the way down, not to half cock?
Not sure why, everything looks in order and my other CZ decocker with NP3 doesn't have the same issue?

Glad to hear!

The slide was NP3 but what type of finish is the gun metal grey on the frame, is it cerakoted ?
-
Looks Great!

Since they don't import the satin nickel finish anymore, and I want to learn more about gunsmithing, my long-term project is to:
1. Buy a used CZ-75B for around $350 or less.
2. Install a Cajun upgrade kit myself.
3. Shoot it for a while to make sure I didn't break anything.
4. Send it to Robar for a full NP3+.
In theory, I'll learn a lot about the mechanics of my gun, and save a little money putting together something really nice. In practice, I may end up with a pile of scrap metal and an empty wallet.

I had a 75B Bi-Tone that I had APW Cogan stipple the front and back straps of the frame and Hard Chrome to refinish to keep the Bi-Tone effect and they did a great job. I also had them stipple and HC the frame of a 97B that CGW just reworked for me. There is a picture of my 97B on CGW's Facebook page. Again, a great job. I only had the frames done in Hard Chrome, but they can do all the small parts too, if you need it done. I think they charged $35 to disassemble/reassemble the pistol in connection with doing the work.
