Title: 712 piston and charging handle help
Post by: paxican on December 19, 2013, 08:21:39 PM
hello all im new around here and hope I can pick some brains

ok so I have the same problem as many others, the piston on my 712 is busted and I read mixed opinions about the replacements stamped CZ-USA.  Im just wondering if anyone has heard anything new? my cz as of earlier this week was chewing up and spitting out any loads I threw at it im hoping that it will still cycle the light loads with the new piston also will it still run with the busted piston? that sounds unsafe doesn't it?

now how hard do you need to pull on the charging handle to get it out the first time? I line up the notches and start to pull reasonably hard and nothing do I just need nut up and pull harder? I was planning on calling cz Monday

any help is greatly appreciated

Pretty hard. The first time I actually used pliers and a rag so I wouldn't damage it. It's much easier now after about 15 cleanings.
