Title: Red Dot on the Kadet, finally.

Very windy, so shot from a rest today.  I put the rail on the Kadet on Wednesday, then put the reflex red dot from the 22/45 on the new rail and tried it.  First group was 9" high but only off 4" left using the zero from the 22/45, so I was pretty happy.  It took a few rounds for me to get the feel back of the wonderful CGW trigger setup in this gun after shooting 1400 rounds through the 22/45 over the last few weeks.  But I made it.  Here is a video of the first group with the Kadet, the 10th group with the Kadet, and a single group from the 22/45 for comparison under the same conditions.

Hi. Did you have to drill and tap the top of Kadet? I'm still waiting for mine but would love to get my Red Dot mounted.

Joe, was that at 31 yds??

Windy,  shooting fairly fast,  shows your shooting very well with the new-to-you red dots.  Your 22/45 SA trigger take-up was a lot less than the CZ. Less pull distance.
Are your irons visible with the red dot off the rail on the Kadet?  It looks like they might be.

Dimon 66--yes, I took a rail for a 10-22 that has a little curvature to it, filed it flat, cut two more cross notches in it to match the notches in the Ruger rail on the Ruger 22/45 so I wouldn't have to move anything on the scope itself when moving the sights back and forth between the two guns. 

1SOW--yep, I think it was about 31 yards, varies from bay to bay.  Wind was tough.  That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it.  With the sight off the gun, you can see just enough of the rear notch to use the open sights.  I could cut a deeper trough in the rail and it would work a little better but I'm too lazy.  The open sights are definitely useful for slow group shooting, but not so much for transition drills. 

The red dot is very high relative to the bore axis.  There will  be some dial in  or hold off moving from 25 to 50 yards in Bullseye.  Our club match this month, however, is just going to be at 25 so I'm home free.
