Title: any experienced with red dots on cz pistols?
Post by: 1boredguy on February 04, 2014, 02:22:20 AM
I got a good deal on a rmr, but not sure if I want to put it on a cz.  Not for competition, more for defensive use on a P01 or P09. I hear there is no off the shelf cowitness solution. Has anyone shot a cz with red dot milled or dove tailed in?

Well, I had my Kadet slide tapped for a Weaver rail.  It wears a 1" tube dot on it, but I suspect you're talking about a reflex sight.

I put an inexpensive red dot reflex sight on a Kadet and really like it.  I MIGHT put a good open reflex sight on a P-09 for Bullseye matches, milling the slide first.  I have a tube red dot on a Ruger 22/45 that will also work  on the Kadet.  I don't have a red dot on a centerfire gun...yet.

Have had red dots on Kadets and CZ open pistols ( 75 open and Czechmate )
red dots are fast and easy to shoot accurately.

have worried or tried to deal with trying to co-witness iron sights with a RMR or other sight.
no readily available solution to doing that. All would have to be custom done at this point in time.
