If you're not set on the model, there are a bunch of 550s in 6.5x55 on the auction sites.
-
THANKS -----I must be looking on the wrong ones...
-
The 557 is a new model in the states and s lot of the distributors and vendors may not have them yet, let alone your local gun shops.

Still have not found a CZ 6.5x55 (new)might have to settle for a 6.5 Creedmor
-
Impact Guns had one at their Boise store.
You should be able to order it through their HQ.

Nah, stick with the original. ;)

Damascus has a 550 FS in 66.5 Swede...not exactly a sporter

If I had it in the budget, Damascus would be getting a 2nd order in 1 month from me!

[Thanks for the help but I just do not like the long stock.../size]

I e-mailed CZ and this is the answer on the new CZ 6.5x55
The 557 Sporter in 6.5 is supposed to be here any time, we expected it at the end of March. I?d get to an authorized dealer and get your order placed, we ship everything on a first in/first out basis, so the sooner you order the higher up you?ll be.

I hate to be a dork and not give my source... but I am going to buy this darn gun shortly and don't want someone else to cut me in the bidding...but I am looking at a CZ 527 FS in 6.8 REM on an auction site. It is not an error in the description...they have close-up photos of the rifle and box. and that the correct identification of model and caliber. Now my problem is I can't find a listing for a full lenth "hogue-like" stock (could be kevlar) grey in color, gun, and I am not familiar with 6.8 REM is that a caliber used by CZ somewhere?? I don't see it listed in the book anywhere.
Help guys. I think I want this gun...but I want more info before jumping on it. I will share the results in a couple of weeks

6.8 Rem is not a CZ caliber. Sounds like a rebarrel job. If it is a full length wood stock, it would be a CZ full stock (FS). Grey in color sounds like a paint job. Or, could be a custom stock.
I have seen a CZ 527 converted to a 6.5 Grendel, but never a 6.8.

6.8 Remington (often called 6.8 SPC) was developed the result of a military search to replace the 5.56 NATO (as a veteran, I could go way off topic discussing that but will stick to answering your specific question).
It uses .277 caliber projectiles, same as the classic .270 Winchester, but uses a smaller case based on the old .30 Remington. So there's a lot of potential there for a versatile hunting and target shooting cartridge, particularly with all the reloading options out there and bullets developed for .270 shooters. It would of course, be a little more limited in bullet weights and lengths than .270, but should do everything a 6.5x55 can do, albeit without the decades-old reputation.

Maybe it's one of these: https://www.saodind.com/cz-527-barrel-stock-combo-6-8-spc-detail

thanks guys.. Thats enough to tell me it is out of my league, as I am not a reloader. If I can't buy it at a LGS or Midway or another online ammo dealer...I won't be shooting it.
so with that in mind, I will share the link to the up coming auction on the southside of Indianapolis. I usually monitor the online bidding before the day of the auction..but do not bid, that 17.5% buyers premium is steep.. but then I go to the live auction where there is no buyers surcharge...
so here is what I was watching--- Hope it is something you are looking for

That octagonal barrel with the chambering in white letters, and what looks like a painted stock scream custom. That the receiver is stamped '05 certainly indicates it's not a new CZ to get all excited about. Interesting, but if someone wants one that bad they're probably better off having it built instead of buying someone else's project.

Thanks for the feedback. I am going to look around for ammo , to see if I can find any... then I may watch to see how the bidding goes. Who knows this could be a $200 prize.
2 years ago I got a 527 carbine in 7.62x39mm for $450 at this same auction house,,, nobody wnted it !!

The 6.8 Remington is designed for the AR platform with a .277 dia bullet, generally 115 gr.
Edited: That's a strange animal there. I'd like to see them bring their 527 FS out in 6.8 SPC, but that's likely not going to happen. Remington, as is unfortunately typical for them, has all but abandoned the 6.8 SPC themselves, much like they have done with the .260 Rem. Why would anyone else want to pick up and run with someone else's project. Remington keeps shooting themselves in the foot. It's only a matter of time until they hit something more vital...
