Trigger work from CGW and the shadow safeties are next...Tungsten H-237 is a unique color as it changes with the light. Here are three preliminary photos of the gun. Please note, this cerakote color goes from silver, grey, greyish blue depending on the lighting situation.... below another user has the same color and it almost looks gold in his.

Looks very nice. Thanks for sharing.

Looks good.
-
wow looks great OP! I've been on the fence of doing mine another color similar.
-
That's a very nice finish. I like how it changes colors depending on the light. I had my AR finished with Burnt Bronze and it has the same effect, I've taken a lot of pictures in different light conditions and it looks different in all of them.
-
Awesome :)

Awesome :)
Could you post a pic of the AR? I was heavily debating having a lighter form of burnt bronze done.
-
That's sick. On my cell and for some reason the pic didn't work in the PM. I've been trying to figured out what to do with the tactical. Nice to see more Cerakoted CZ's popping up.

There are some pics in this thread of a 75B Compact someone had done:

That looks REALLY cool!

Nice choice. I did this one a few months ago.

Velo, yours was the one I saw and decided to get one and do the same thing... Though I don't have a Shadow :)

That looks really nice...has me thinking about picking up standard 75 and giving it the same treatment.

Cool. I've got a tac sport that is going to get the same treatment as well.
-
I've been thinking about what to do to my dual tone SP-01. I dont really like the gloss black slide on the "silver" frame.
This tungsten color would look bitchin on the slide :)
-
One of the best looking cerakoted CZs I have seen. Really impressed with how it came out.
-
Thank you birds away... for people who have actutally stuck around to read this far, one negative thing for me is the feel, its not a polycoat super glass slick feel like on the standard factor finish.
-
Still very, very nice soltangris. Easy to wipe off after shooting? That's the best thing about my nickel 75b.
-
Muggia59,
I havent even shot the gun, I bought it, sent it out to be cerakoted, got it yesterday, sent it out today to have the barrel threaded, then its off to CGW for the "pro package". I think im half nuts.
-
Here is that picture of Burnt Bronze AR. I was planing on cerakoting my Shadow this color also when it wears out a bit but after seeing Velo's and your pics I'm having second thoughts.

I don't think so at all. Good things come to those who wait. When she is complete she will be one outstanding firearm.
-
that is gorgeous!

Interesting, how does it wipe down? Pretty clean and easy or a little more effort?

I am thinking about having my SP01 Shadow Target done in the same colors, i love the look. Mine has a few dings and scratches, hence some thoughts about refinishing, although it has "character" now!
soltangris,
I was interested about your comments on the texture...is it still smooth, as in a satin or matte finish, or more textured? My reading suggests the cerakote finish can be varied somewhat depending on how much hardener is used. Not sure I'd like a textured feel.

Robbie,
So the texture is more similar to a matte finish, Both of our guns that are in the pictures on this thread are the same color, done by the same guy. I asked specifically for as shiny and smooth as possible with Cerakote. Its really a strange color the Tungsten H-237 as you can see in the pictures it changes with the light.
Im not that keen on the slight texture, however it now gives me a unique tactile stimulation since its about the same gun as my Shadow Target, but feels different.
-
Thanks for the info. Appreciate it.
-
Tungsten Grey Rocks, I have a number of firearms done it the color. I have a SP01 Tactical getting done now. I converted it from a DA/SA to a SAO with CGW parts, cant wait to get it back and put it back together.

That looks very nice!!! OP, how much did that set you back if you don't mind me asking?? I am thinking about it, but was wondering on what the ballpark price is.

Good looking gun, and it's going to be a bleep fine one when you get done with it!

For cerakoting one color handguns, the usual price is about $170 or so... this does not include the gunsmith fee of taking it appart and re assembling, nor shipping.
-
I am lucky I have someone local that does it. I send my guns in stripped and he gives me a great price. For one color on a 1911 I get it for $100. The CZ is two colors and is gonna run me $125.
-
That looks very nice OP!
I have a shop locally that does slide for 80 and frame for 80. Then +40 for disassembly/reassembly.
-
Both myself, and Velo, the other guy who posted pics of his shadow, had ours done by Ericksonarms.com.. Fantastic dude named Keith, hes in Oklahoma, I mailed my gun from Oregon.
-
Whilst doing a search on here for cerakoting I ran across this thread. My Rami is being send off today for cerakoting in the same colors as what is shown in the first pic in this thread. H237 Tungsten and 146 Graphite. Can't wait to get it back.
-
that a nice cerakote job!
