Are all CZ83s supposed to have the lanyard loop? Mine doesn't and the spot is smoothed over like it was never there, not like some bubba hacked it off.
-
I could be wrong, but I don't believe that the CZ83s had a lanyard loop. They were not intended for military or police issue.
-
I ground the lanyard loop off my -82 because I'm never getting on a horse and don't need it.

As an old ground-pounder, I find it somehow comforting. I don't guess a Zoom would worry about it, though! ;D

That is my belief also :)

Ahhh, good to know

The CZ 83 had a loop but it might have been left off when they changed the trigger guard. But I bought one from CA USA a few years back. it is different that the CZ82 loop as it is steel not aluminum and smaller. I swapped mine on my 82 as it let the CZ 75 rubber mag base fit better. The mag base hung up on the stock CZ 82 loop.

I have three 83's from various decades, none of them has a lanyard loop.
What year is yours?

Lol, how do I tell? Just via the serial?

On the right side of the frame, just above where the front of the trigger guard meets the frame....should be a 2-digit year stamp. Sorry, I don't have a photo handy to illustrate.

Not to be argumentative, but how do you know that your CZ 83 "had a loop"? And how do you know that "they" changed the trigger guard? It might have been made with either a rounded or a squared trigger guard, depending on when it was made.

So my 83 was made in 1991. Is this significant in any way?

I stand corrected I could have sworn that I replaced mine with one sold as a 83 loop from CZ usa but when I look now I see none ,and the P-07 and cz 75 loops look alot like the one I have on my 82 now.
