Just for fun, I would like to know reasons and thoughts on why you went with or would go with one of the compact CZ models.
I realize some folks can carry a full size handgun, but I'm more interested in the differences in choosing a particular compact.
I personally went with the P-01, but not before changing my mind several times. I left out some of the different variants for simplicity sake.
-
I had my P-01 and a RAMI. Sold the RAMI and kept the P-01. Not a lot of difference in size and the P-01 felt so much nicer in my hand.
Made pretty good $ on the RAMI also.
-
PCR = because I'm not fond of the 40 cal or CCW'd a flashlight and I like the low profile sights, LCI and a Decocker for carry.
-
P-01. Lightweight, and just as easy to shoot as my full size CZ's.
-
Clearly, we aficionados of the vz.50 and vz.70 are being discriminated against by those who wish to flaunt their larger calibers. ;D
-
I've CC'd the P-01 in the past. I'd like to revisit it again in the future, but when I do I will have a new holster that accommodates it better in regards to the custom hammer that I installed on it. Sometimes it would dig uncomfortably into my side. Never tried the stock hammer, but I suspect it was the holster that was lacking. But right now I've selected a caliber currently unavailable on CZ's.
-
Actually, I carry a Semi Compact
Full sized Frame with a Compact Upper
-
Winter, larger coat weather - 75D (PCR). I like the LCI.
Shorts, tee shirt weather - CZ-82/83
-
I carry a compact pretty much all year around. There are occasions when I will carry a full size 75B in the winter or a RAMI in the summer. But my go to gun is the compact. I care a lot less about comfort of carry and a lot more about how quickly and accurately I can employ the weapon.
-
Hurryin Hoosier,
I happen to like the .32 calibers. I guess you deserve to vote for it.
I also added Dan Wesson compacts.
-
I voted for the P01. I currently carry a P07, eventually i would like to have my P07 as a carry only and have a CGW 85 combat for the range.
-
For compacts, I vote P-01, because I have one.
Rcade, get with High Noon Holsters and try this one out, the Double Jeopardy,

Another option that might shield the hammer is the High Noon Slide Guard, a favorite of mine. Shown here with a Kimber and a Glock version, and no, I don't own a Glock - that's for work. :)

The P-01 and PCR both carry well, and I have used both for CCW, (look at THIS oddball setup I used for my PCR as a BUG, and yes, it worked great, and no, the company that made it is out of business),

...and I wouldn't feel at ALL underarmed carrying either again, but this is my carry choice right now, on me as I type this. ;)

High Noon Down Under holster with straps, and High Noon Rock Steady gun belt.

But...it's NOT a campact by ANY stretch of the word...unless compared to a Desert Eagle... ;D

I went with the CZ75 Compact because that was the only CZ for sale at my LGS.;)
My CZ75 Compact rides in UBG Striker IWB gunhide. Its comfortable and has good retention. The mouth of the holster is stiff enough that re-holstering the gun is no problem.
I typically carry a fullsize CZ75 mag for reloads, a Fenix LD10 light and a Kershaw 1760DAM blade. Ammo is HSTs or Gold Dots of the 147 gr variety.

Very nice Gentlemen. I voted for the Rami, but I also carry the 75 compact. I also prefer to carry OWB with a button up shirt. I also use full size mag for reload.
-
I personally carry a 75 compact. I find it just the right size for me. I would love to try a pcr because of the alloy frame but I dont mind a little extra weight. I had a rami and while I enjoyed carrying it I found I couldnt let the mags drop free because of the way my hand came over the bottom of the frame I still want another rami to carry though. With the compact I use a Don Hume Jit slide holster that I really like and find very comfortable and easy to conceal at least for me anyway.
-
My choice is the P-01. I carry it in an OWB by High Noon, the Slide Guard. It rides high and tight in that holster making it one of the most comfortable carry combinations I've tried. While I'm aware that we all have our individual preferences and no one size fits all, the P-01 just clicked for me from the moment I first test fired it. It's one of those guns that meets my expectations for an accurate, easy to handle carry pistol. On top of that, it shoots like a pistol I've had for years, not like a pistol I've owned for just less than a year. Due its ease of use and the fact that I can shoot it accurately, I'm looking forward to using it in the next IDPA BUG match I can find.
-
My choice is currently the P-01 in a Comp-Tac C-TAC.
It carries well on my Wilderness 5-Stitch and is a blast to shoot.
If I could afford it, it would be a Compact L or Shadow Line compact, though.
-
I did carry a P-01 for about a year until I sold it, went back to Glock. To me I wish it had less bulk ..... That is why I bought a PCR my carry piece :-)
I have RafterS and wilderness 5-stitch, tend to grab the Wilderness most time. Shopping for a new belt now, the RafterS has been shrinking lately .... :-o
-
I have been switching back and forth between my PCR and Walther PPS(IWB). But since I just purchased the P-01 and ordered an OWB holster for it, it looks like I will be carrying that too.
But I also received my P-07 last week so who knows what I will be carrying now.
I might even get rid of the PPS.
-
CZ Compact L, Comp Tac MTAC holster, Wilderness belt, and generic Federal 115 HPs.

I mainly carry the PCR, but I am looking forward to carrying the Rami BD after finishing the upgrades. I sometimes carry a Sig 239 SAS Gen 2 or Shield.
-
If I get a RAMI BD, then the PPS will have to be sold, or maybe the huge 92 FS. But I will definitely keep the 92 Compact.
-
Walther PPS and 75 compact for me too!
I chose the steel compact for a few reasons. It has a frame mounted safety. It sweeps down to fire, like a 1911 (common muscle memory). I like the additional weight because this is primarily a range gun with occasional carry when the PPS takes a rest.
If I were to dedicate one to my only carry gun, I would carry the PCR. It is slightly lighter. It has no rail. I don't want that extra bulk of the P01 frame IWB.
I keep looking at the RAMI, but I'm not sure how much concealment I would gain. I absolutely love the fit of the compact and PCR.

PCR : weight, size, and de cocker
-
If they all cost the same ::) I would go with the DW Guardian . That thing is as sweet as it gets ! But they don't so I'll go with the PCR .
Did I mention that Guardian is SWEEEEET ?

Amen. I love my PCR and my CZ Custom SDP, but I shoot better with the DW Guardian .45 than any other carry pistol I own.

I've been carrying a Canik C-100 when I needed something a bit smaller than the CZ 75BD I normally carry... I am rethinking that, though.
I originally got the Canik to see how I felt about safety versus decocker and find I prefer the decocker (mainly due to placement - the decocker does not interfere with my grip) so I may sell it and pick up a CZ 75D Compact or a PCR.
-
I am one of the "PCR" voters.
The snag free sights and the decocker are key issues for me.
I also have a Compact L but I am not comfortable with such a light trigger.
I am afraid that I would take up on the trigger and pop a round into my my leg.
The Compact L or the 75 SA are much nicer to shoot than the PCR; just not best for me as a carry weapon.

I voted for the 2075 RAMI. I had a UBG Striker made for my Compact L; bonus is that the RAMI fits just fine. Only been carrying for a month in true blue Illinois, but so far it's been 80% RAMI. just depends on my mood I guess but I have zero qualms about carrying either firearm. Love them both.
-
I carry one of these three:
The one in the middle most of the time but the big guy on the left gets some time in a shoulder holster in the winter and the little guy likes to go out on hot summer days. They have, as you can see, many things in common. Their shooting characteristics are surprisingly similar.
-
Exact same choices here Birds, only I add the P07 (converted to safety). The K2 45 is also safety, and feels like a cross between a 92 Beretta grip and a CZ75. Very comfortable.
-
the CZ compact is the only CZ that I own.. When I get my SP-01 it will most likely join the carry rotation as well..
