Title: PCR newbie @ Range...???'s
Post by: wheels on August 16, 2002, 10:17:35 AM
Just got back from firing 250rds. with the PCR
(still no holster! I'm getting frustrated- none custom for PCR?!)

Anyway, I'm only 750 rounds (two classes, lots of hours on the internet and hours with my pistol in my hands) into my firearms experience.

I'm realizing, like always, I'm lefty...

I've been practicing all I've learned (although I'm sure I'm leaving out most...) and I'm making progress...starting close (all standing)

...However, I'm missing with my groups, mostly one inch right 3:00, and I can't hit the bullseye for the life of me (not true...I hit my last 2 out of 4 bullets today...pressure was on! from 25ft.)
Another pattern for me was a vertical group (1-2") with maybe one vertical flyer out to 3"...??

I've experimented with grip tension, sites, stance, breathing, eyes, trigger pull...grip, both hands, off handed, one handed....

Any clues on what I'm doing wrong? (lefty+righty)?

Pulling the the right when your a lefty is trigger work.  Try squeezing just enough with your two middle fingers and try to forget your pinky exists when shooting the gun.  Work your trigger slowly and smoothly.
A great dry firing exercise is to put a dime laying flat on the top of the slide by the front sight.  Pull the trigger without dropping the dime..as soon as you can do this then stand a 9mm case on its primer end and dryfire until you can do it without it falling.....and then work on your quickness with the trigger...it will help ALOT.
Shoot well
