Just put a set of hogue 75000's on my
cz75 compact. After a little work with a dremel and a exacto knife they fit snugly and afford a better grip.
Thanks cz forum for the tip.

They came out nice. Good job.

do you have a before /after pic? just wondering what you had to trim or mod with the knife.

They look great. Nice job. That's how I like mine.

I don't usually like the look of Hogue rubber grips. But those look good.

Mounted one side at a time and scribed an outline to modify insert. Used a dremel with a fine cutting disk to remove excess plastic then changed to a fine sander drum attachment to get the plastic level with the rest of the inside of the grip. Put protective tape around the backstrap area and remounted the grips. Use dremel fine sander to bring the length down to the correct level. Exacto was used to trim excess plastic after cutting and sanding. Final touch was a slight bevel at the bottom. Had trim the inside plastic several times due to the magazine not dropping freely but all is well now. Grip improved immensely.

mounted one side at a time? isn't grip all one piece and rubber? what plastic are you cutting and shaping?

There is a raised portion in the center of each grip that prevents the grip from shifting and had to be modified to fit the smaller grip height. If you look at your original grips you'll see the area I'm talking about.

aren't the hogue grips one piece rubber grips? still confused on what grip you did the trimming on. did the hogue grips fit over another set of grips that you modified?

The hogue grips are too long so I had to modify the raised area like in the picture or else the hogue would not have fit in the grip recess.

Bimmerland, could you give more of a detailed post? Part #...
Any other links regarding these? :)
Would like to try this on my CZ 75 Compact.
Many thanks :)

Firefly - I used hogue 75000 full size wraparound grip. I used a dremel to cut them down to size and round off the edges. The only other modification is to the inside of the grip to make it fit in the recess of the frame. I used the stock grips as a template.

I have a Hogue grip coming on Thursday (so says Amazon). I like my VZ grips, but remember loving the wrap around grip on my old P-07. I figure for $11.62 I can't go wrong giving it a shot. I'm sure I can get it to fit and work, it's just a matter of making it pretty. I'll try and take some pics along the way when I can. I may not be able to get to the actual process until Friday or Saturday because I coach my son's football, schedules, etc.
I couldn't find anything detailed with pictures either, so I'm just going to use patience and go slow as heck.
