Title: Fiber optic front sight question on new 97B
Post by: dale59911 on August 09, 2014, 09:18:14 AM
My new 97b has the fiber optic front sight and the rear edge is so squared that it catches on a soft holster when I draw.  I usually use a soft cheapie for glove box use but it snags so badly I can barely remove it.  Any suggestions on correcting that or any night sights that are good with the 97b

File the sharp edge away and cold blue.  For nights, call CZC or pm stuart.

What do you mean by "cold blue".  I assume some sort of treatment to the metal?

Thanks for the response.

The stock fiber optic was pretty lame anyway, as well as snagging on holster draws, so I swapped it out for a XS big dot set. Really nice on the 97. No snags, and easy to pick up in any light conditions. Easy install.

I have a Sig that has a "Dot-the-I" type of sights that work nicely too.  They aren't Big Dot but are easy to use quickly.

Thanks for the input on those "dot" sight.  I tried them on a friends' gun and it is too easy for me to misalign them.  None of my other pistols have that type of sight and it is just too different from what I use on everything else.
